...Bribes and Deception Gregory O. Clark Regent University In the case study this week, I am supposed to be an export manager of a United States steel company that provide heavy beams and plates for huge construction projects. The company that I worked for has been unfruitful the past couple of year and are now looking to generate business oversea in South America. I have been working with a company in South American on a contract that would allow my company to make 20 million dollars. The problem is that this official will not sign the contract until I pay him 20,000 dollars. A bribe is something valuable (such as money or jewels) must be given to someone to get something. It is typically illegal or dishonest. (Merriam-Webster, 2014). He tells me that if I don’t pay the bribe then he will give the contract to the Germans. This goes against his country laws as well as the laws of United States. This is considered a bribe. I have a small mini tape recorder in my brief case which I could use to deceive the official. I could tell him that my company policy is to tape all my meetings conducted while oversea. And I could give this recording over to his superior. I will not do so as long as he sign the necessary documents. There are several ethical dilemmas in this situation which make things gray when looking at it through the eyes of ethics. The first dilemma face was to pay the bribe which was illegal in his country as well as my own. It is possible that the Germans may...

...This was review for the students but by restating old knowlegde I modeled and guided students to use restating to retain information. Throughout the lesson I continued to ask questions to motnitor that I was communicating and conveying ideas clearly. The students responses both proved I was effectivly comminucating and they were able to restate information using communication strategies. The questions I asked required students to look beyond the text and into the visual clues. Students had to draw connections from context in order to communicate the correct infromation. When students were able to draw connections using visual cues and answer my questions it showed that I communicated the intital inforamtion and ideas effectivily and modeled appropriate communication stategies for them to imitate. While I was modeling communication stratgeies by asking questions, I was also aware of the class and what was happening non-verbally. In my reflection I recorded a converstation I had with the teacher about the students behavior during the lesson. Through this note it shows that I was aware and senstive of students’ reception of the message by using...

...Patagonia Inc. Why do you think there were problems with the workbook process? What could be done to solve those problems? The workbook process has that problems, that Senior Patagioni recognized, these were ’the numbers were reported only a mounth or two after the month ends”, the too much paperwork and the employees need more training to can understand and use this system. They should solve these problems as soon as possible. After the solutions of these problems there are still some other problems. 1. They should convince the head managers of each department, that how usefull this process. They should understand, why they need to work much, beacuse the people don’t like work more for the same prize. Maybe they should motivate them with some benefits. It is very importants that the managers like this process, that they want to do it well and sucessfully, because even the head of the departments don’t feel like to use this new stuff, their workers, the peoples under them, also won’t like this workbook system. I think first of all, the top managers and the bosses should make a personal conversation with the head of each department. They should make them motivated to use this. If they still doesn’t want to use it, or they use it, just because they need to do, than that people need to be fired, and find and the firm has to find an other person for that position. 2. It think the process was a bit complex for the employees. For that people who had the qualification to...

While tourism is important economically, it is also benefit socially, politically, culturally and educationally. Therefore, tourism agencies, organizations and people interested in the tourism should find many ways to make the industry better. The first way to develop the industry is to find and make the connection between travelers and local people. There is a new platform called Withlocals.com connects travelers with the local population directly in order to show tourists the real Vietnam. Local people can become guides who give tourists the authentic travel experiences, activities and anything such as food, beautiful sightseeing, etc. They even invite them to eat dinner with their family and this is the best experiences while you can eat local food and listen to their story about their country. ...On March 11, 2011 a magnitude-9 earthquake shook northeastern Japan for 6 whole minutes. Not even an hour later the first of many tsunami waves, reaching up to 128 feet, began crashing onto Japans coastline and traveled as far as 6 miles inland destroying everything in its destructive path. This tsunami not only was the cause for 18,000 deaths, but also the reason for a cooling system failure at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant which then resulted in a level 7 nuclear meltdown and the release of radioactive materials. I am first going to discuss how TEPCO, the Tokyo Electric Power Company, reacted to the meltdown and how they continue to store and reuse the nuclear waste, and then will discuss my opinion on what they are doing and future steps I believe they should take. When the tsunami swamped the plant, the power to vital cooling systems for three of the reactors were cut. These began to melt and leaked radioactive material in the atmosphere. In order to cool these down TEPCO began pumping hundreds of tons of water into the plant. This now highly radioactive water was stored in makeshift, hastily built containers that were meant for temporary holding and have hardly held up 3 years after the catastrophe. The operator of the plant Toshimitsu Motegi compared the way they are dealing with leaking containers to a game of “whack-a-mole” and after 300 tons of radioactive waste leaking from one container, he decided it was time for the government to step in. Current...

...Running head: MARKETING KILLER PRODUCT Marketing Killer Product Blake E. Lance Lubbock Christian University Tobacco is a nasty, horrible, addictive drug in any form or fashion. I feel that it is one of the leading drugs in America and it is legal. Legal or not there is to many American's addicted to tobacco, whether you chew it, or smoke it. If it was illegal people would farm it, sell it, just like any other drug in America, believe the government legalized it just to be able to tax the tobacco and gain a very large profit off of it. The government raises the prices as if the drug addicted people are going to quit, its just more money in uncle sam's pocket, knowing that the people are addicted to tobacco. Tobacco company's will never stop selling tobacco because they know that there is to many people addicted to it and if they did not sell it, there competitor will and why loose out on all that money. Even tho, predictions are that one billion people world wide will die this century from smoking related ailments, (Armstrong/Kotler 11th edition p. 34.) Its legal and the tobacco company's know there is a very high demand for the product. There may be a few of the big bosses in these big tobacco company's have a little conscience and moral fiber in themselves but the big almighty dollars stands in their way. Therefore I think it will never stop the money is to good and there is way to many American's and foreign people addicted to it. Cigarette marketers will continue...
