Best Device for Your Needs
Many people are updating their smartphones, laptops and desktops. There are so many options to choose from brand, size and performance. This paper will discuss and compare some of today’s best bargain laptops and computers that will also offer some of today’s most updated software and features. I will also discuss two of the most popular smartphones comparing and contrasting each devices features.

While shopping on the internet for the best computer system I had hundreds of choices. I decided to narrow my choices down by picking a device that had all the features I needed in a computer system, but had a reasonable price tag for a full time worker and a part time student budget. The best option for me is the Dell Inspiron 660, and the Canon PIXMA MG2220 all-n-one printer it has all the features and needs that I would need in a personal home desktop system.

The price point for this desktop is around $529.00. This device can be purchased at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Hhgreeg making it accessible to most for in store purchase. This desktop is also available for purchase online as well from the dell website directly for the price listed above. The system software consists of OS Provided Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition. The system setup specs consist of Intel Pentium G630 / 2.7 GHz with a Dual-Core processor that includes 64-bit computing. The installed RAM size 4 GB / 8 GB (max). The optical storage available this device is DVD/RW. The graphics controller on this computer is Integrated which includes Graphics Processor / Vendor Intel HD Graphics, Video Interfaces HDMI, and VGA. When it comes to these devices audio output this computer includes sound output mode 5.1 channels surround, standards high definition audio.
When looking at the network connection on this computer this system offers different options Wireless LAN and Wireless NIC Dell Wireless 1506. With the following data link protocol Fast Ethernet, Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11g.
As far as the connectivity slots this system has 6 x USB 2.0 ( 2 in front ), 1 x HDMI, 1 x VGA, 1 x LAN (Gigabit Ethernet), 1 x Audio line-in, 1 x Audio line-out, 1 x Headphones ( 1 in front ), and 2 x Microphone ( 1 in front ) . The overall power supply that is used for this system is 220 Watts.
After seeing and evaluating this system specs I choose this system because of everything it offers, I do a lot of gaming, papers for school, and music downloads This system offers the speed I need and also the space I need for y downloads as well. This computer paired with a HD monitor makes the best of this system. Choosing this system with the Canon PIXMA MG2220 all-n-one printer will allow for me to make the best of my computing experience.
Once I made the choice of the computer system that would best fit my needs, I had to make a choice of which printer that would be a good choice for what I needed. I choose the Canon PIXMA MG2220 all-n-one printer. With the features such as Terrific Resolution this printer delivers superb quality and detail. Hi-Speed USB: Plug the cable into your PC for a super-fast connection for your data transfers. Allows for a user to print, copy, scan and fax all on my printer.

I have searched the internet trying to find the best laptop for my needs and have come across many. After considering usage, size, processor type, memory, features, operating system, battery life and even the color, but most importantly the price. I chose the Acer 13.3" Aspire Ultra book 4GB. The Ultra book is running about $400. The features that I saw that made me chose this device is as followed: Screen Size: 13.3", Processor Type: Intel 1.5GHz - Dual-core. The Operating System: included is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit -System Memory. Wireless Networking Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-Enabled. This system has two USB Ports for external connectivity. The system battery life is about 5.5hrs.Systen included software Microsoft Office Starter 2010. With these features included in this Ultra book made for an easy decision for the best system that would fit my needs for the price I needed.
When I chose the two best smart phones to compare I automatically chose the two most used and talked about phones the Samsung Galaxy S IV and the IPhone 5s. These two phones are similar but different at the same time. The first thing that is usually an important feature in both devices is the price. The Galaxy retail price is $249.99; however depending on your cellular company they may be running a special for new customers or upgrades. As far as the IPhone 5s the price is dependent on the GB you get, this phones price can range from $199.99 all the way to $849.99. The lowest is 16GB up to the maximum 64GB.
When discussing the hardware of a device the Samsung Galaxy is the winner vs. the IPhone 5s.The Galaxy S4 screen is a 5-inch delivering a resolution of 1080 x 1920, and the device features 2 GB of RAM. While the iPhone 5S delivers a smaller 4 inch display with a resolution of 640 x 1136, 1 GB of RAM. But don’t let these figures fool you. When to the benefits a features of both devices Samsung would win on the screen size, even though apple has mad the screen taller it has no comparison to the wide and large screen of the Galaxy making navigation much easier on this device. Once of the features that Apple has included in the new 5s is the Apple touch sensor ID, allowing the user to be able to unlock ones phone by using their finger print. All though a cool feature not a deal breaker for most buying a smartphone. When comparing each phones camera IPhone 5s having an 8mp camera vs. the Samsung’s 13mp camera a user is going to get sharper images on the Samsung device.
Another important user feature is the battery life of their device. The iPhone 5s has a 1,570 mAh battery, compared to the Galaxy S4 2,600 mAh. So depending on what the phone is used for that day will determine the length of the battery life. However according to the numbers the Samsung Galaxy S4 should last longer.
When it comes to IPhones 5s apps, compared to the Samsung Galaxy S4. I personally believe that the Android market is better than the Apple apps system The main reason is because Apple user are paying for lot of apps that are free through the play store on android devices. Saving the user lots of money. When it comes to the devices speed the devices depends on the network you’re on. I have noticed user on the Sprint and T-Mobile network have a little more connection user versus user on the AT&T and Verizon network. When it comes to price I have had Verizon they are more expense than the other providers, but offer better connections on their 4G LTE. Monthly bill was nearly $180.00 having all unlimited features text, talk and web. I am currently on T-Mobiles network were my bill is a lot lower but the service s moderate on their 4G LTE network, with my monthly bill $120.00 with unlimited text, talk, and web. Like the saying says you get what you pay for.
Overall picking and choosing a device in this day and age should be done based upon a user’s need whether your choosing a computer, smartphone, television, or printer. The thing that makes it more difficult in today’s society s that a device is released and within six months of its release and new more upgraded device is released that includes newer features It’s hard to keep up with the Jones now a days compared to ten years ago Companies are always trying find a way to make there devices better than the last device they released to keep the consumers happy.

Wireless Networking

...WIRELESS NETWORKING Introduction A wireless network is any type of computer network that uses wireless data connections for connecting network nodes .Wireless networking is a method by which homes, telecommunications networks and enterprise (business).Installations avoid the costly process of introducing cables into a building, or as a connection between various equipment locations. Wireless telecommunications networks are generally implemented and administered using radio communication. This implementation takes place at the physical level (layer) of the OSI model  network structure. Examples of wireless networks include cell phone networks, Wi-Fi local networks and terrestrial microwave networks. Wireless network made up of There are two kinds of wireless networks: * An ad-hoc, or peer-to-peer wireless network * Access point Ad-hoc or peer-to-peer wireless network It consists of a number of computers each equipped with a wireless networking interface card. Each computer can communicate directly with all of the other wireless enabled computers. They can share files and printers this way, but may not be able to access wired LAN resources, unless one of the computers acts as a bridge to the wired LAN using special software. (This is called "bridging") Each computer with a wireless interface can communicate directly with all of the others. Access point or base station A wireless network can also use an access point...

...NETWORK SECURITY Introduction Network security is a major issue when developing a new computer system. A few of the issues that the new WInt must address are accidental disruptions to the system, loss or theft of sensitive data by employees, malicious attacks to system, and theft of intellectual property by employees (National Institute of Standards and Technology, 2014). The accidental disruption to systems are caused by employees who input mistakes or leave out important data during input; these mistakes and omissions are typically caused by data entry clerks that input a lot data every day or other system users who create and edit system data. WInt would need to implement applications that use quality control protocols, as well as requiring all users with system access to be trained to help reduce this type problems (National Institute of Standards and Technology, 2014). Loss or theft of sensitive data by employees can be described as computer crimes by people who have or get access to the system and steal or destroy sensitive information on the system. The majority of these crimes are committed by disgruntled, current employees, although some are committed by former employees who keep all their system log-in information, who use their access to commit fraud, theft or destruction of system data (National Institute of Standards and Technology, 2014). Malicious attacks to the system are caused by malicious software like viruses, worms, Trojan...

...ITDM IT WATCH ON VIRTUALIZATION SUBMITTED BY GROUP 9 CONTENTS 1. INTRODUCTION TO VIRTUALIZATION 2. TYPES OF VIRTUALIZATION 3. ADVANTAGES OF VIRTUALIZATION 4. VIRTUALIZATION IN INDIA 5. REFERENCES INTRODUCTION Virtualization is the creation of a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, such as an operating system, a server, a storage device or network resources. In layman's term, virtualization allows you to run an independent operating system within an existing operating system using the existing hardware resources. So if you want to learn another operating system like Linux, you can use virtualization to run Linux on top of the existing operating system. Virtualization is the abstraction of IT resources, separating their physical instance and boundaries from their function. Virtualization has brought important innovation to IT Virtualization concept was first developed by IBM in the 1960s to fully utilize mainframe hardware by logically partitioning them into virtual machines. These partitions will allow mainframe computers to perform multiple tasks and applications at the same time.. During the 1980s and 1990s, desktop computing and x86 servers become available and so the virtualization technology was discarded eventually. Client-server applications and the emergence of Windows and Linux made server computing significantly inexpensive...

A network that helps a workstation to connect with each other is called a Networking hardware. If a company uses both routers and firewall, the company is assured protection of both wireless and cabled networks that are used in the company. Network hardware is suitable in any organization in the keeping of the organizations network safe. In the software part I will choose to use McAfee Anti-virus security software. This software in conjunction with firewall is a sure way of protecting a company. Routers when used along with hardware are the best security hardware needed if the company needs to increase the security of their network to a level where none of the intruders can be able to access it (Radu, 2002). The function of the firewall in an organization is to ensure that all unwanted activities are blocked including hackers that can retrieve important and delicate information of the company. Hacking will be a very dangerous exercise where criminal can access the important information that a company has and use this information in blackmailing the company and its customers. Networking software’s also plays a major role in securing an organizations network security.
