...Carl Gustav Jung was born on 26 July 1875 and died on 6th June 1961. Carl Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who founded analytical psychology. Carl Jung was an early supporter of Freud because of their shared interest in the unconscious. He was an active member of the Vienna Psychoanalytic Society. Carl agreed with Freud in many areas but not in regards to the Oedipus Complex. Jung proposed and developed the concepts of extraversion and introversion archetypes and the collective unconscious. His work has been influential in psychiatry and in the study of religion, philosophy, archeology, anthropology, literature, and related fields. Much of Carl’s work was not published until after his death. Carl Jung believed that “the central concept of analytical psychology is individuation the psychological process of integrating the opposites, including the conscious with the unconscious, while still maintaining their relative autonomy”. Jung considered individuation to be the central process of any human development. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a popular psychometric instrument, was developed from Jung's theory of psychological types. Jung saw the human psyche as "by nature religious" and made this religiousness the focus of his explorations.]Jung is one of the best known contemporary contributors to dream analysis and symbolisation. Through research, I have discovered Jung was a practising clinician and considered himself to be a scientist, much of his...

...hopeful future and why he left it all behind confuses most people. After analyzing Chris's personality traits, it helps things make sense. This makes many people ask the question, what was Christopher McCandless's temperament type? The theory of temperament type was introduced in the 1920s by Carl G. Jung. The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in the behavior is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment. Based on evidence from the story, Chris McCandless was most likely an INTP (introverted, intuitive, thinking, and perceiving) temperament type. This means he was focused internally, where he dealt with things rationally and logically. Some people would diagree wiht this position and would argue that Chris McCandless leaned towards the preference of sensing and feeling. There is some evidence provided in the story that Chris demonstrated the preference of sensing. According to MBTI basics, a person with a sensing personality type pays attention to physical reality; what they see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. They're concerned with what is actual, present, current, and real. They notice facts and remember details that are important. They like to see the practical use of things and...

It embraces every phase of human character: intellect, temperament, skill, morality, and every attitude that has been built up in the course of one's life." (Harris 333). ... Introversion Introversion is "the state of or tendency toward being wholly or predominantly concerned with and interested in one's own mental life".[4]Some popular writers have characterized introverts as people whose energy tends to expand through reflection and dwindle during interaction.[5] This is similar to Jung's view, although he focused on psychic energy rather than physical energy. Few modern conceptions make this distinction. The common modern perception is that introverts tend to be more reserved and less outspoken in groups. They often take pleasure in solitary activities such as reading, writing, using computers, hiking and fishing. The archetypal artist, writer, sculptor, engineer, composer and inventor are all highly introverted. An introvert is likely to enjoy time spent alone and find less reward in time spent with large groups of people, though he or she may enjoy interactions with close friends. Trust is usually an issue of significance: a virtue of utmost importance to an introvert is choosing a worthy companion. They prefer to concentrate on a single activity at a time and like to observe situations before they participate, especially observed in developing children and adolescents.[6] They are more analytical before speaking.[7] Introverts are easily overwhelmed by too much stimulation from social gatherings and engagement, introversion having even been defined by some in terms of a preference for a quiet, more minimally stimulating environment.[8] Introversion...

...What aspect of Personality is the test addressing? The test I chose is called 16 personalities (online). It is a test that tells you your overall personality and is broken up into 5 sections. The first section addresses if you are an extroverted or introverted person. Extraverted people tend to be sociable, enthusiastic and like to work in groups. Introverted people rather be alone, are sensitive, and get exhausted by social interaction. The second section addresses whether you are intuitive or observant. Intuitive people are imaginative, open minded, and curious. Observant people are practical, have strong habits, and focus on what’s happening rather than what will happen. The third section is based on thinking and feeling. Thinking individuals focus on rationality, objectives, and logic. They tend to hide their feelings. Feeling individuals are sensitive, less competitive, and focus on cooperation. The fourth section is judging vs. prospecting. Judging individuals are decisive, organize and plan out really well. Prospecting on the other hand are people who are good at improvising, spot opportunities, and tend to be flexible. The last section describes assertive and turbulent personalities. Assertive people are resistant to stress, don’t worry too much, and don’t push themselves when it comes to achieving goals, on the contrary turbulent people are sensitive, strive for ambition, and experience a wide range of emotions. How does it relate to something in this course? In Psych...

...Learning Team Charter was created, establishing the skill inventory, goals, rules, and conflict management for the team. “So what is the first and most important step for creating effective teams? Chartering is the process by which the team is formed, its mission or task described, its resources allocated, its goals, its membership committed, and its plans made” (University of Phoenix, 2009). The goals and objective of the team will be met by taking into account each individual’s personality and skill set to maximize the potential of the team members. The Learning Team is composed of three different personality types. The three different personalities are ENFJ (Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging), INTJ (Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging), and ENFP (Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving). Because all of these personalities have different strengths and weaknesses, it is very important that the team charter has goals that would accommodate everyone on the Learning Team . Each of these personalities seem to pick up on an area in which another personality is lacking, which will help in making sure that the performance of the team will continue to improve. The team charter will help the Learning Team improve our skills, for some of the members it will help with trusting others on the team and for others it is a tool that will help improve how individuals...

...surprised to see that I was scored as an introvert. According to the dictionary.com, an introvert is psychologically defined as, “a person characterized by concern primarily with his or her own thoughts and feelings” (Introvert, 2015)j. I am surely the type of person that would think about what and how to say or do something. When there is a problem or situation, I would rather analyze all possible solutions (The Four Preferences, 2015). This is the complete opposite of the extraverted person. The extraverted person is defined as, “a person concerned primarily with the physical and social environment” (Extrovert, 2015). The extraverted person loves to talk to people, and wear there emotions on a sleeve. I do acknowledge that I scored a slight distinction toward introversion. I think the score reflects that although I may be introverted, that I can still be socialable with coworkers and my peers. Intuitive (30%) This was another result that did not surprise me. Dictionary.com defines the intuitive person as, “easy to understand or operate without explicit instructions” (Intuitive, 2015). I think of myself as the person who never reads the instructions at first. Personalitypage.com explains that there are tow ways to percieve information. The website explains that, “intuitive preference generates abstact possibilities from information that is gathered” (The Four Preferences, 2015). The other preference is “sensing”. Personalitypage.com says, “ the sensing preference absorbs data...

...Jung Typology Test Austin Blake Montgomery Tarleton State University After conducting the Jung Typology Test my results came out to ENFJ, extravert 22%, Intuitive 25%, feeling 12%, judging 22%. When searching the internet for a definition of my score it came to a web page called personality page.com. The site labeled me as “ the giver” and its opening line broadly defines my sore as, “As an ENFJ, you're primary mode of living is focused externally, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit into your personal value system. Your secondary mode is internal, where you take things in primarily via your intuition.” According to this website my primary focus is a people pleaser, I focus on my strong people skills, also I let people know I care and understand them which allows me to bring out the best in people. I get personal satisfaction from helping others feel accomplished and satisfied, but in return for my people pleasing abilities I have the ability to make people do exactly what I want them to do, in positive ways only of course. Another part of my definition for ENFJ’s is the need for these types of individuals is important to spend time alone. Though people have to be careful because these types of personalities can drift to dark areas of thinking when alone. Another side of this is the need to keep one’s life busy with aspects of others’ lives, as to not have time to self-reflect too much. In general the web site defines...

When i first saw this it made me think of how on the job I sometimes write everything out step by step when solving problems. These test have also showed me that as an NT leader my strongest quality in the workplace is that I seek for clarity more than others. I used to believe that I came off as trying to be better than other at work when I asked lots of question and went deeper into trying to get an understanding on projects. Personality Types introvert People who are introverted tend to be inward turning, or focused more on internal thoughts, feelings and moods rather than seeking out external stimulationBeing an introvert is completely the opposite of being an extrovert. A person that is an introvert would rather read a book than talk to another person. An introvert is a person that would think about what we want to say rather than just doing it. This is one of the greatest thing about people an introvert because believe it or not too many people do things without thinking about what they are doing before they do it. Also an introvert person is very aware of how we fell and it is also a person that will think a problem through until you get the full understanding of the outcome that will take place after you solve it. ...are: 1. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) 2. The Big Five Personality Model 1. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) What is “Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)”? To keep the answer really simple, I would like to explain this approach as: “The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or MBTI is a systematic assessment process which involves a 100 questionnaire designed to assess the perception of people about the world and the mental capabilities by using the results of the answers by the interviewees about the decisions they make in some given particular conditions and situations” On the result of the above questionnaire, a person is classified as one of the following: · Extroverted or Introverted (E or I) · Sensing or Intuitive (S or N) · Thinking or Feeling (T or F) · Judging or Perceiving (J or P) Brief explanations of the above classifications are given below: Introverts are usually shy, timid and quiet. 1. Extrovert and Introvert 1. Extroverts are usually action oriented people and generally focuses on taking actions more frequently while introverts are usually thought oriented people and prefer to take actions with less frequency as extroverts. 2. Extroverts like to do more interaction as compared to introverts. Introverts are inclined towards the ‘substantiality’ of the interaction rather than the ‘frequency’ of the interaction. 3. Extroverts like to spend more time with people and in socialization as compared to introverts, who usually like to...

...What I have learned from the Communicating Effectively Module The main focus of the studies in this module was the Myers Briggs Type Indicators. These indicators describe the way in which different people think and approach the world. It tells us that each one of us has preferences from the four descriptors giving a possible 16 personality types, Extraverted/Introverted, Sensing/INtuitive, Thinking/Feeling, Judging/Perceiving. After reading through descriptions of each type, I assessed myself as having an ISFJ type. However, when my results arrived from the MBTI Test completed online, my results were an ESTJ type. Upon reading into the characteristics I questioned whether I was really an extrovert as I have always thought of myself as shy and reserved. The traits of an extravert are those who are energised when they talk though tasks with others and prefer to act after doing so. They enjoy the company of others especially if discussions and projects are in an area of common interest. I originally chose the Feeling type as I consider myself a people person; however I also like to be objective and to look at things logically and debate the issues. After this further analysis, I decided the ESTJ type better described me. Since I have read about the different personality types, I feel it will help me with how to better communicate with work colleagues. When communicating with other extroverts, one should aim to do so face to face. If in groups allow interaction, focus...
