...Story of Al-Isra' wal-Mi'raj (The Night Journey) In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful. الإسراء والمعراج On 27th Rajab, all the Muslim believers celebrate this as a grand day of Mi'raj as "Grand Eid" and all the Muslims should be proud to have such a prophet like Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him and his progeny (Ahlul Bayt), to whom Almighty Allah (swt) was also proud and had invited him to visit and talked with very nearer distance as mentioned in the Glorious Qur'an 53:9. Also note that, the Mi'raj of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him and his progeny has taken place more than once. However, it should be mentioned that Mi'raj in which the daily Salat was made incumbent, without doubt, occurred before the death of Hazrat Abu Talib, who passed away in the 10th year of Besat. Unmistakably, from the Ahadith and books of history, it is mentioned that on the night of Mi'raj, Allah (swt) gave the order of the five daily Salat as being mandatory upon the Islamic Nation. The darkness of the night had spread across the horizon and silence reigned over the face of nature. The time had arrived when the living creatures take rest and sleep so that they might recuperate from their activities of the previous day. Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), was also not an exception to this law of nature and he wished to take rest after offering his prayers (Salat) in the house of "Umm-e-Hani", the daughter of his uncle and sister of Amir al-Mominin...

...Goal 1: Isra will stabilize her mood and maintain her safety. Isra was observed in a pleasant mood when the QP met with her for the session. Isra listened as the QP shared how feelings are indicator of how situations in your life make you feel. Isra established that the boy in the story was angry, irritated and rejected. Isra acknowledged that is possible to experience more than one feeling at one time because she has experienced more than one feeling at once. Isra reflected on the boy going somewhere to get a pass as well as not getting into an altercation with his classmate. Isra commented, "I would be pissed and would have to go to the bathroom and calm down I might even cry out of frustration." Isra shared, "I wouldn't get into...

...Teacher: Mrs. Williams Creative Emulation: Isra Ahmed, a seventeen year old girl from Karachi had yearned for the day where she would be able to express her love for Mihir Jham. They had been together ever since the beginning of their college year, though this had been a secret kept from her parents. The idea of Muslim girl marrying a Hindu boy would never be deemed acceptable or appropriate by them. When she finally garnered the courage to request them to fulfill her desire, her parents were aghast. Isra’s father was taken aback, and questioned her intentions. “How could you even think of such a thing? We are Muslims, and marrying you off to Hindu boy is considered haram.” A similar response was received from her mother, when she reacted; “Do you even know of the consequences of such an act? We will be shunned by the Muslim society, and moreover, we will lose all our respect.” As a result, Isra was denied any further meeting with the love of her life, and was bound to her room until further notice. Isra was devastated, and ran to her room in despair. She knew for her parent’s sake and their family’s reputation that she had to cut all ties with Mihir. In an attempt to explain the unfolding situation, she sent him an email citing reasons for why they could no longer be together. For the first time in years, her parents kept a tab on her, right from what she did, where she went, and more importantly with whom she socialized with. Isra experienced an invasion of private space,...

ILS per 1 USD The above chart shows the relative exchange rate between the Israeli New Shekel and the US Dollar. On January 1st, 2006 the exchange rate between the Shekel and Dollar was 4.61687 Shekels to $1. At this time, the US equities market and economy (and consequently the US Dollar) was in its 4th year of a bull market. This bull market carried both US equities and the US Dollar to all time highs and left the Israeli Shekel at a historically low price against the Dollar. From January 2006 to July of 2007 the exchange rate between the dollar and the Shekel was relatively stable and then on August 1st, 2007 the dollar began dropping due primarily to rising inflation, quantitative easing and fears that the US economy was no longer growing which consequently put the Dollar into a tail spin against the Shekel. On May 31st, 2008 the US Dollar hit an all time low against the Shekel with just 3.23686 Shekels equaling $1. From July 17th 2008 to April 23rd, 2009 the dollar grew against the Shekel despite the US economy and equity markets tumbling and entering recession. From April 2009 to July 2011 the Dollar decreased against the...

...Kinetic Theory Objectives • Describe how the kinetic-molecular theory is used to explain how gases behave at different temperatures. (Exploration 1) • Analyze data that shows how gas particle mass affects that gas’s behavior. (Exploration 2) • Describe the Maxwell-Boltzmann Distribution. (Explorations 1 and 2) Description of Activity The kinetic-molecular theory states that a collection of gas molecules’ average kinetic energy has a specific value at any given temperature. In this activity, you will study how temperature and gas particle mass affect the frequency distribution of gas particle speeds. You will examine and analyze speed frequency distribution graphs. This distribution is called the Maxwell-Boltzmann Distribution. Jump Start 1. What is kinetic energy? 2. What is thermal energy? 3. What happens to a gas’s thermal energy as that gas’s temperature increases? 4. What happens to the average speeds of the particles in a gas when one increases that gas’s temperature? Safety Discussion If you conduct this experiment in a laboratory setting, be aware that gases heated in a closed container could result in the container exploding. Exploration 1: The Effect of Temperature on Gas Behavior Procedure 1. Choose any gas from the list box. 2. Set Temperature to any value. Observe the shape of the frequency distribution of speeds graph. Sketch this graph. Record...

Candidate and research assistant at Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Sponsored or supported by: ARIHICoE Research Grant Abstract Since the last few decades, Islamic finance industry has developed tremendously penetrating not only the Muslim countries but surprisingly the non-Muslim countries as well. It has been acknowledged by the scholars on the need for this development to cater for the Islamic banking, Takaful and Islamic capital market industries. These three main industries are interrelated and dependent on each other in order to ensure that the whole Islamic financial system is in compliance with the Islamic principles. Among these three streams of the service industry, the Islamic capital market plays a crucial role to support the other two. Since Islamic banks and Takaful operators have to invest to provide the benefits to the investors and policy holders which are compatible with the conventional counterparts, the Islamic capital market is assumed to be the backbone for the two to survive and grow in the Islamic...

...Al-Isra’ and Al-Mi`raj (The Night Journey) 1-The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was taken for a journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to Al-Aqsa (the Farthest) Mosque in Jerusalem. Then, Gabriel ascended with him through the seven heavens and Sidrat-Al-Muntaha (the lote-tree of the utmost boundary) where the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord. There, Salah (Prayer) was prescribed on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his nation. He was commanded to perform five Prayers night and day and in turn they would receive rewards from Allah as they perform fifty Prayers. In this connection, Allah, the Almighty, says: “And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer.” (An-Najm: 9) The people of Quraish accused the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) of lying when he told them that he had journeyed to Al-Aqsa Mosque. On asking him about the description of it, he described it completely because Allah brought a picture of it before him. Introducing Islam to the Tribes 2-When Quraish hindered the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from carrying out his duty, namely calling people to Islam, he started to introduce Islam to tribes on occasions in order to protect him so that he could proclaim his mission. Some of these tribes rejected his call politely while others mocked at him. One day, he met six men from Al-Khazraj...

...from Mecca to Madina, on the 27th night of Rajab, Prophet MuhammadPBUH had a unique experience in the history of all religions. The ProphetPBUH, accompanied by Angel Gabriel was taken for Night Journey-(ISRA) from Mecca to Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. There he led a congregation of the souls of all the earlier ProphetsPBUT. Then accompanied by Angel Gabriel he had the Ascension-(MAIRAJ) to Heavens. In the heavens he met again with the ProphetsPBUT individually. Then he was taken to see the Paradise and the Hell. He was shown what the fate of the humans would be after the Day of Judgment. How the Believers and the Righteous would be rewarded in the Paradise and also how the non-believers and the wicked would be chastised in the Hell. After seeing several important divine Signs (Ayaat) he was led by Gabriel to the Sid’rah (The Berry Tree). Gabriel stopped there. The ProphetPBUH proceeded from there to the Divine Proximity. The ProphetPBUH had the Vision of Allah, Lord of the Universe. Five obligatory prayers were ordained by the way of Thanksgiving. The ProphetPBUH was brought back to the earth and to his own place before the Dawn prayers in the same night. Importance of Shab-e-Mairaj The most important things we believe about the Mairaj are noted below: 1) The night journey (ISRA) and the Ascension (MAIRAJ) both did not take place spiritually” nor they were merely in a “dream”, as a few people argue. They took place with the “body and soul,” and the ProphetPBUH was fully awake....

...3. Islam and nature: insights for development of environmental accounting They have discussed on the centrality of the principle of Trusteeship (khilafah) to an Islamic environmental ethics that would implicate accounting. In Islam, the principle Trusteeship is mostly explain on the role of accountant or Muhtasib in Islam. Muhtasib are responsible to ensure that business is not harmful or cause any negative impact to the community. Besides, the Tawheed principle stressed on the concern to monitor, report and act upon changes in flora and fauna and ecological phenomenal. It assesses the impact of a business’s activity upon the eco-system to ensure that this is within target limit consistent with the measure. The concerns underscore the need for openness in law and policy-making governing accounting which mitigate some potentially corrupting influences on the process involved. It will counter tendencies towards cheating and creating false measure. Islamic community principles are suggestive of a system of informing and disclosing to the Umma that is explicitly orientated to the public interest (Istislah). In Islam, the financial economistic disclosure is highly relevant and should reflect amounts properly available for distribution: The calculation of Zakat requires in turn the calculation of net assets, to a full and relevant disclosure that is ‘balanced’ (between an optimistic overstatement and a pessimistic understatement) according to Lewis (2001, p.114). Accountant seek...
