Introduction:

Eighty percent of families in the United States have more than one child, which means if you’re reading this, you most likely have a sibling. Whether you have a sibling or not, you’ve probably also heard of something called the birth order effect. If you’re unfamiliar with this title for it, it is simply the theory that the order in which you were born has an impact on your adult personality.

The theory goes as follows. The first-born child is usually the quickest to learn how to please their parents. They become reliable, controlling, conscientious, achieving, cautious, and structured. The middle child is usually unbiased, levelheaded, very social, a people-pleaser, a good friend and peacemaker. The baby of the family usually …show more content…
Critics have claimed that the family is famous for actually nothing and that a lot of the events on the show seem to be fabricated. The Kardashian-Jenner family has been described as “desperate for fame” and “self-absorbed”. But nonetheless, the show has attracted a huge audience, and became one of the most successful shows on the E! network. [7]

Keeping Up with the Kardashians has become the “guilty pleasure” for many. Their success is almost fascinating. It stems “from the perfect storm of a social media and an image-driven culture, globalization, and our fascination with things that are both attractive and relatable.” Kim Kardashian has become the face of modern beauty.

The sisters have been described as “priviledged, attractive, curiously and debatably successful, somewhat boring in terms of overall gravitas or complexity, both unintentionally profound and ignorant, unapologetically vain, superficially distressed and ambitious.” [7] The blended family is a cultural phenomenon. They have created their own industry and redefined what it means to be famous. …show more content…
The relationships between siblings are unlike any other. It is usually the longest enduring relationship of one’s life. Flyod notes, “Friendships are often transitory, and context- specific, marital unions fail nearly as often as they succeed, and relationships with parents or children wax and wane as other commitments interfere.”[22] Families with half-siblings and step-siblings, can experience the same bonds as children from the same parents do. [18] Sibling relationships are pivotal parts of later life and the basis for continued interaction seems to be derived from their shared early life.

Sibling research ahs been conducted in many different ways: siblings as teachers, siblings as rivals, and siblings in terms of emotional attachment. [23] Sibling provide companionship, comfort, friendship, affection, intimacy and act as confidants. [24] The closer the relationship between siblings, the more frequent and intimate the communication between them is. Siblings pass milestones and share the future together. They can be there for each other every step of the way. However, sibling competition can induce rivalry which can continue throughout a lifespan.

Kendall is shown topless in the photo, covering her breasts with her hands. This photo was taken for the catchy “In Bed with W Magazine” Campaign. Although this photo is very racy, the news outlets that were discussing this photo were more concerned that Kendall’s mother, Kris Jenner, was extremely proud of this photo. In the interview that Kris Jenner had with Huffington Post Live, she stated that “She has like, the perfect body, especially one that wants to be in the modeling business. I don’t know, I got a lot of curves and I couldn’t pull that off. But she always looks remarkable.” This interview had many news outlets struggling with the fact that Kris Jenner is very open and honest about her 18 year old daughter and her approval of these photos seems to be too aggressive. There was one show in particular that was very prejudiced when it came to Jenner and her views on her children, especially with this photo. The show, The Young Turks (TYT), had four different analysts that were sharing their opinions on what they would do in their own lives and giving Kris Jenner quite a bit of backlash on her view of her daughter. The points that each show had made was sharing the fact that not...
