Politicians apply different dynamics in order to achieve their specific goals with different types of people. The motivations of a politician differ from the motivations of a representative of an organization. Although they have different types of goals and expectations, they have similar characteristics and leadership traits (Kirkpatrick & Locke, 1991). There are various types of power dynamics such as autocracy, bureaucracy, technocracy and codetermination. This can be identified in the characteristics if the politicians as well as with the leaders of the organizations. Although there are certain differences, in the political leadership and the organizational leadership, both have more similarities, so the political leaders can achieve more success in business organizations too.
The political leaders have similar characteristics such as determination, courage, ethical management, facilitation and communication. These characteristics are similar to the organizational leadership. The situation can be advantageous in both ways. A successful political leader can achieve his aims in his field and he will be able to achieve the success, if he is appointed as a leader of an organization. The honesty, dedication and integrity of his character can be applied in the success of the organization. A successful leader in an organization can be a successful politician as he can employ the dynamics of power in a proper manner. Such leaders have become great leaders of the countries and they have steered their respective countries to success. The transformative leaders can be identified in many countries. Russian president Vladimir Putin is such transformative leader (Kanungo, 2009).
Putin was one of the leading members of the FBI and he has joined the organization when he was sixteen. He was able to reach the top level of the organization with the help of his leadership traits and the he was able to demonstrate string characteristics, which can guide him as one of the leaders of the country. As a leader, he has dedication, courage, perseverance, integrity and communication, so that he was able to become the president of the Russia ("Inside Putin world, where few risk speaking truth to power", 2014). The economy and the political stability of the Russia was very challenged when he assumed his duties. As one of the transformational leaders, Putin was able to address several issues related to the economy and the political stability. His transformational leadership skills have become the foundation of the modern success of Russia.
