The government was sued by the citizens of La Conchita because the citizens felt that the government hadn’t done enough to warn them or prevent the landslide in 2005. I agree with the citizens that decided to sue the government. There are multiple reasons why the citizens should sue the state. One of these reasons are that they didn’t have a good plan, then they didn’t do that much to warn the citizens, and they didn’t use their past experiences from the landslide in 1995 to better prepare. Landslides can be very dangerous so people should receive important warnings from the government for their safety.

They could have special rules for the people who live in that area so that they are prepared for any landslide.
The state government didn’t do that good of a job of warning the residents. In 1994, cracks could start to appear on the slope which was one of the causes of the landslide so they could have been looking for those same cracks before the landslide in 2005 and better prepare the citizens. There was data that showed that there was immense rainfall before the 1995 landslide so they could have predicted a landslide like the one in 1995 due to the increase in rain. The government could have had a mandatory evacuation for all citizens.

Nobody died in the landslide in 1995 but there were 10 deaths from the landslide in 2005. The government should learn from both of these landslides to protect people in the future because the one good thing about mistakes is that you learn from them and we should all learn from the deaths of the people in the

...C hapter Two: The Basics of Logical Reasoning The Logical Reasoning Section The focus of this book is on the Logical Reasoning section of the LSAT, and each Logical Reasoning section contains a total of 24 to 26 questions. Since you have thirty-five minutes to complete the section, you have an average of approximately one minute and twenty-five seconds to complete each question. Of course, the amount of time you spend on each question will vary with the difficulty of each question and the total number of questions per section. For virtually all students the time constraint is a major obstacle, and as we progress through this book we will discuss time management techniques as well as time-saving techniques that you can employ within the section. The Section Directions Each Logical Reasoning section is prefaced by the following directions: “The questions in this section are based on the reasoning contained in brief statements or passages. For some questions, more than one of the choices could conceivably answer the question. However, you are to choose the best answer; that is, the response that most accurately and completely answers the question. You should not make assumptions that are by commonsense standards implausible, superfluous, or incompatible with the passage. After you have chosen the best answer, blacken the corresponding space on your answer sheet.” On average, you have 1 minute and 25 seconds to complete each question. Because these directions precede...
