The “Pizzagate” incident signified the absurdity and the blindness between the boundaries of real events and fake rumors. “Pizzagate” was a conspiracy theory that Comet Ping Pong, a pizzeria in D.C., was the site of child sex-abuse and trafficking led by the Clintons and Democrats. It all started with the theory spreading within social media such as Reddit and Twitter, and the Washington Post pointed out that most of the “avid retweeters” were in fact “bots”. As the news spread, James Alefante, the owner of Comet Ping Pong, started receiving questionable calls from all over the world asking about his affiliation with the Democrats. Soon after,
