My perspective about setting up a biotech company is based on the idea of newly emerged company named “Voyager Therapeutics”. This company deals with developing gene therapy technology by using AAV or Adeno-associated virus as an effective delivery vehicle of new gene which is to be introduced in human body in order to alter the expression of some gene those are responsible for neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s , Friedreich’s Ataxia, Monogenic ALS and Huntington’s diseases. Therefore, the main goal of this gene therapy is to either gene replacement or gene knockdown which will eventually result into up or down regulation of relevant proteins at target sites within the central nervous system.
