Learning Team case #: How would you address the issue to resolve the conflict in the scenario as a Learning Team member, without involving the faculty member?
Learning Team Scenario 4: One of your Learning Team members is causing problems. He is naturally antagonistic, finding fault with everything and everyone. He does not want to be at University of Phoenix or any other university, but needs to earn a degree. The discussions in your Learning Team forum are often taken off-task, and the completion of assignments takes twice as long because of trying to work with this person. So far, everyone has tried to be nice, but the due date for a major assignment is approaching, and he does nothing but complain. What do you do? I would ask the instructor and other team members if we could meet with that particular team member and discuss the issueand try to figure out why hes always complaining. We can also explain to him that completing this assignment is important to all of us and the deadline is approaching and if that doesn’t work we will have to seeif the instructor can mediate us to come up with a solution. If his problems continue to happen we should talk to the instructor about having his portion of the assignment graded separately.

Learning Team Scenario 1: Two members of your Learning Team are not contributing. The two members seldom check in to the Learning Team forum and barely contribute to the team discussion. Both members have failed to complete their group assignments a number of times, so you and the remaining group members have had to finish the assignments for them. The two members are active participants in class and always turn individual assignments in on time. How would you handle this situation?

Learning Team Scenario 2: You are a member of a Learning Team. One member is dictatorial in your Learning Team forum. He tells everyone what to do to complete assignments. You have confronted this individual a number of times with your input regarding assignments, but he has ignored you. You and other team members agree that this member is hardworking and has effective ideas, but you would like to have input regarding what happens with the team. You now would like to fire this member. How would you handle this situation?

Learning Team Scenario 3: Your Learning Team wants to splinter group assignments. Instead of working as a group, each member would complete a part of each assignment independently. The group would then combine all the assignments for submission to the faculty member. You feel that working this way makes the final product and presentations disjointed. Because of the time commitment required to complete the assignments as a Learning Team, other group members feel that splintering assignments is the way to go. How would you handle this situation?

You are shocked because you had no idea she felt this way, although you realize you relied on her for leadership. What do you do?

The following paragraphs will discuss how the team will come to an agreement regarding the project and the action plan they utilized to come to this agreement. Whether working on a project or in a business, each team needs a leader. A good leader provides a vision and gives a common direction for the team or business. In this conflict scenario, the Just Right Tire Company personnel do not have a common vision or direction. They are all working independently and only have objectives to a goal.
