Aleesha is a 24 year old mother of two who was recently released from prison after serving a two year sentence for felony drug distribution. Aleesha experienced a traumatic childhood after losing her father in Iraq and shortly after she was emotionally and physically abused by her mother’s new partner. Aleesha began experimenting with drugs and alcohol in her early teens and did not finish high school. At age 16 she ran away from home and moved in with her boyfriend who physically, emotionally and sexually abused her, as well as introduced her to crack and drug distribution. Aleesha is now two years sober and is currently in a transitional home attempting to regain custody of her two and three year old children after being placed in foster
