"The Pedestrian" offers a look into the future, where a man, Leonard Mead, goes for long strolls each night independent from anyone else. It is 2053, and Mr. Mead is the main person on foot close to his home. He has never seen someone else out strolling amid the numerous hours that he has walked. He lives independent from anyone else - he has no wife, thus it is a custom for him to walk each night. It is never said expressly in the story, however it can be comprehended that he is the main, or one of the main, walker in the public arena. On this specific night, a squad car stops him and requests him to put his hands up. He answers a progression of inquiries concerning his life and family, and his answers are unsuitable to the police. They are nine years of age, and they are excitedly anticipating a pivotal event. Following five years of consistent downpour, the researchers on Venus have anticipated that the sun will turn out today for a brief timeframe. The youngsters have just seen the sun once in their lives, however they were two years of age and they don't recollect what it would appear that or feels. To get ready for the day, they have continually perused about the sun and finished classroom exercises, for example, composing a lyric, about the sun. This is valid for everything except one of the kids. Margot, a slender, pale young lady that whatever remains of the youngsters disdain for different reasons, lived in Ohio until she was five. Despite everything she has numerous recollections of the sun, and the sun keeps on captivating her. Marot declines to take an interest in any classroom movement that does exclude the sun. Indeed, she has been in a discouraged state for the greater part of her time on Venus.
