Of all people, Marie Brose Tepe deserves the Eagle award because of her bravery and patriotism that helped the Union troops along the way. Marie was a vivandiere, joined the 27th and the 114th Pennsylvania regiment, and fought in The Battle of Chancellorsville. When fighting on the battlefield against the confederacy, she wounded many soldiers within range of enemy fire. Not even having a bullet stuck in her ankle would stop her. She fought until the end.
