...Steven Meginley Imagine if you were a famous singer and musician now imagine your at a huge concert in Madison square garden and you are on stage performing one of your most famous songs. Then all of sudden you pass out wake up in the hospital and find out you have cancer in you lungs, liver and feet also mild brain tumors witch caused him to black out. This happened to bob Marley after that night his whole life changed in a instant. Instead of falling apart and cutting his life short he decided to fight trough it and show how real peace and love is accomplished this is what he was trying to tell the world his whole life through his music. Even if you’re left with nothing you can still make a difference. I wanted to pick bob Marley because I really enjoy his music and I think its cool that he grew up with nothing and just the thought of changing the world almost forced him to be come famous. He also loves soccer. Marley is one of the most well known names even today with his sons fallowing in his footsteps and living up to their father’s name. I knew a little about Bob but not to the extent I do now like his father left before he was born and he was a white man living in the ghetto of Jamaica. I knew he faced hardships but not to the extremity of I know not. Marley’s wife manager and bob where ambushed and shot several times the next day he got up on stage and said to the crowd “if evil doesn’t take a day off why should I” with 3 gun shot wounds! He was at the...

...required for life in the Royal Court, but are these ideas of ladies and gentlemen an out dated notion, or do more people than you would think still believe in this way of life. When considering the definitions of a lady or gentlemen, you would most likely thing of a lady as a well-mannered and considerate woman with high standards of proper behavior, and a gentleman as a man of gentle or noble birth or superior social position, or something very similar to the definition of a lady. Etiquette as we think of it was established in the Versailles court of French King Louis XIV. There was a large circle of courtiers, ladies and gentlemen whose main occupation was hanging around the court, attending balls and ballets, dining, and looking fabulous (Marly, D, 1987). Over time however very specific rules of behavior were developed, which in large part may have evolved from the fact that the ladies and gentlemen of the court had no specific occupations, other than being courtiers. In The Book of the Courtier, a courtier’s goal is to be a...

...crowd was rabid, garbage rained down on us. A group of them pissed and shat in our dressing room.” (Wagamese 131) This further proves how systemic racism is embedded within the game. No matter how well Saul performs in a game, his identity as an Indigenous person always overshadows it. We see this when Saul joins the Marlies. “When I hit the ice, I was effective. Scoring twenty-three points in nine games. But the taunting continued. I packed my bags and got on a bus back to Manitouwadge.” (Wagamese 166). The quote proves that he plays in an environment where he is not respected and valued. This moment is critical for the reason that it reveals the reality of Indigenous athletes. The racism he was trying to avoid in the real world followed him onto the ice and eventually made him quit. Saul’s identity in the novel is a complex issue deeply influenced by his Indigenous heritage and traumatic experiences within the residential school. This adds a new layer of complexity to his identity. The experiences from the residential schools and the racism from hockey both compound his internalized shame for his Indigenous identity. In particular, when Saul plays for the Marlies and they start throwing warrior figurines and garbage at Saul, “They made me feel ashamed of my skin,” (Wagamese 164). This is one of the instances where we see Saul being ashamed of his Indigenous identity. It is evident from this that Saul at this point has a love-hate relationship with hockey. On one hand, it is his...

...Statistics Marlies Parent CJS/240 August 02, 2013 University of Phoenix Statistics The Uniform Crime Report or UCR is a crime reporting program that was created in “1929 by the International Association of Chiefs of Police” to form a consistent statistic for the entire nation, by the nation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation started to run the Uniform Crime Report in 1930 by gathering, publishing, and archiving the statistics (N/A, N/A). Information from many law enforcement agencies is collected, for other law enforcement agencies to access these types of statistics. The UCR collects statistics on violent crimes like aggravated assault, forcible rape, robbery, and murder, as well as property crimes like motor-vehicle theft, burglary, and larceny-theft; all these offenses are considered Part 1 offenses, which also include arson, but there are no statistics available in the UCR for these offenses. Part 2 offenses include other assault or simple assault, forgery, fraud, stolen property, embezzlement, vandalism, drug violations, prostitution, sex offenses, weapons, gambling, offenses against family and children, DUI, liquor laws, drunkenness, disorderly conduct, vagrancy, suspicion, curfew and loitering laws, runaways, and all other offenses not covered by part 1 and part 2 offenses, this however excludes traffic violations (N/A, Department of Justice; Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2004). Since the data in the Uniform Crime Report is expressed as raw figures, crime...

...MEMO To: Dr. Marlys Mason From: Alyssa Cortez Data: October 5, 2014 Re: Clean Edge Razor-Splitting Hairs in Product Positioning Background Since 1962 Paramount has been regarded worldwide as a respectable and well run company. With major competitors such as: Prince (Cogent and Cogent Plus), Benet (Vitric), The Tempest and The Naiv, it is extremely impressive that they continue to improve within the market. After $13 billion in global sales and over $7 million in profit in 2009 alone, Paramount Health and Beauty Company began working on what they believed to be their golden goose. SWOT Analysis Paramount is a strong brand that has established a positive association and trust with its consumers. The Company also has the funds to afford over $19 million/year in advertising spending. They provide the most technologically advanced product in the market. Currently, in the razor market, there is no other product that compares. Unfortunately, Paramount has their fair share of weaknesses as well. Launching the Clean Edge razor in the wrong segment could potentially decimate the whole company. Another weakness of Paramount is that they don’t hold a position in the super premium segment of the mainstream market, which accounts for 37.2% of the total non-disposable razor market. As far as future growth goes, Paramount has plenty of opportunities. They are already growing and have plenty of room to advance further in this super premium market. Another...

(B) Problem: Given the substantial adjustment in wages that the company’s rank and file employees would be receiving as a result of the new law, Mr. Sanchez was wrestling with the problem of what adjustment in the compensation of his supervisory staff would be “fair” under the circumstances. In addition to this immediate issue, he also wondered whether other changes should be made in the company’s current salary structure and compensation policies. Solution: In general, Mr. Sanchez is a hardworking person. In that case, his company must come up with an estimate monthly manpower expenses resulting from new law. The impact of the new wage on the product cost and profit is important on their company’s product price. In that case their wages will increase from the minimum wages that will cost another expense in their company. They need an alternative solution. By hiring more qualified staff. Lessen overtime jobs and expenses caused by the overtime pay since there are more workers to finish the jobs. It will help EMI cope with the demands since they have more manpower. Increase of labor force means increase in the production, thus, increasing the profit to be earned. By giving them reward or incentives. Motivate...

...the U.K.” With this being said, new ideas to generate revenue would be utilizing CB in ways that would be healthier and options for the consumers. Ways to use the CB could be expanded in different ways. Since you have close relationships with the Q&Q, Neshey, Cadmerry and Hershal you could propose to increase their purchase to produce products such as chocolate wine or mix sweet and salty by telling them to bring back dark chocolate with a twist. You could produce chocolate with bacon, or chocolate covered cereal. These ideas are for the developed consumers that are purchasing your product ongoingly. For prospects, you could introduce the health benefits of chocolate and different ways to put in use besides feeding yourself. “According to Marlies Spinale, director of Tru Spa, "Like many other antioxidants, cocoa polyphenols are thought to offer the skin protection from free-radical damage caused by sun, pollution, stress, alcohol consumption and other factors. I believe that we will hear more about the benefits of chocolate in skin care." I think that producing new products and distributing would be something that would be too much for a team of 10, so by developing new retail packaged products may be a waist of money. Of the many methods for ideation offered in contemporary literature, which represents the best for CB in this situation, and why? Ideation is the creative process of generating, developing, and communicating new ideas, where an idea is understood as a basic element...

...Chapter Two Economics: The Framework for Business Review Questions 1. How did the global economic crisis unfold? The economy changed for the worst when the dot.com bubble burst in 2000, and 9/11 terrorist attacks happened in 2001. 2. What steps did the Federal government and the Federal Reserve take to mitigate the crisis? They decreased interest rates, and subprime mortgage came into play. They seized a few companies that controlled a lot of the mortgage. The congress passed a bill on dollar bailout plan. As the new administration began Obama passed a 825 billion dollar bailout plan. 3. Compare and contrast microeconomics and macroeconomics. How do the two approaches interrelate? Use a specific example to explain. Macroeconomics is the study of a country’s overall economic issues such as performance, structure, behavior, decisions making, and study rates. Microeconomics focuses on smaller economic units such as individual consumers, families and businesses. They can affect how much and what you can buy for your family. 4. Fiscal policies refer to government efforts to influence the economy through taxation without representation and spending decisions that are designed to encourage growth. ...First of all, Saul is forced to stop playing for the White Rivers due to the fact that he is an Indian. When Saul plays for the White Rivers, Father Leboutilier tells Saul, “I know, but there is no game for you. They don’t want you to play anymore, Saul.” ‘It’s because I’m Indian, isn’t it?’.‘Yes.’” (91). As the racial discrimination towards Saul becomes evident in the beginning of the book, many people discriminate Saul by not letting him play for the team. This affects Saul as he too can tell that he cannot play the game he loves due to his race. Second of all, Sauls culture is misinterpreted for his skill for hockey. When Saul is playing for the NHL, he says to the Marlies coach, “I’m Indian. That’s all they see.” (166). Saul knows that many people only see him as an Indian who survives residential school and this leads him to give up hockey due to the fact that people see him through his culture, and not his skills. Saul knows he is being racially discriminated, which foreshadows that he will eventually feel distressed due to hatred and will quit playing. Third of all, Saul later realizes that he will never be accepted. When the Moose are in Chapleau, and are peed on by the white people, Saul says, “‘They hate us because we’re skins.’. All the hurt. All the shame. All the rage. The white people thought it was their game. They thought it was their world.” (136). At a young age, Saul is led to believe that...

Sometimes, we considered a successful person when he or she is millionaire, or has the car of the year or own a beautiful big house. I know a person that do not have the car of the year because they are using that money to pay the college for their children. I also know people that do not have a big house because their goal is to have two vacations time every year with all their family. Success is more than a beautiful house, is achieved all your goals and put hard work into them. Success is more than the car of the year, is having wisdom of getting up every time we fall. Personal and professional goals On January 2014, one of my goals was to go back to school and start a master in Nursing Education. Since I was a teen, I was in the debate between being a nurse or a teacher. I decided to be a nurse because I can do both things at the same time. It has been eight years since I graduated and loved it, but I think that it is time to the pursuit my other dream witch is being an educator. Also, with the Master in nursing education...

...St Bruno, Rome, St Pierre du Vatican. 1740-1744.
