Martha Rosler is an American artist that combines history and montage to create her artwork. She uses everyday life concepts in the point of view of a female and blends it, as well as getting inspired by war themes. Her artwork creates a transportation to the era or time period to the audience that are viewing her artwork. Some of the works that I truly enjoy from her is
''part of the life industry'','' Cleaning the Drapes'' and ''Point and shoot.'' I found all three artworks very interesting and I feel that all three share a connection and similarity. In her montage she makes important statement, she doesn’t really camouflage her cuts of image but tends to blend in all image very well using colors and focal point. She then adds a very modern house as her background which I believe helps blend in the chaos happening outside the window.
The war picture in the background has very bright color ''red, ''orange '' green'' that are not used in the character nor the background which I believe help the war picture stand out more. For ''Cleaning the Drapes'' Martha uses a similar concept as ''Part of the life industry'' using the female as a focus point and the war picture in the background. But I believe that the focus point is flipped she uses the bright color of the drape to make the vintage girl pop out as well as the war picture in the background. The big drapes build a foundation that helps these two-image blend in very well. For ''Point and Shoot'' she gathers three images two with color and one black and white. By leaving the picture of the mother and son in black-and-white I believe it

helps brings more attention to the right side and tense to fade attention from the busy left side.
