Mary Slessor// Hudson Taylor Many lives have been affected by enthusiasm of these two courageous missionaries: Hudson Taylor and Mary Slessor. These two people where unstoppable, they wouldn’t stop for anything. This is just a summary of their lives there a lot more to them.

Mary Slessor’s background was very interesting, when it comes to being a missionary. When she was growing up she had very little education, she was taught very little because her mother couldn’t afford it mainly because of their father (we’ll get to that later.). She started working at a mill because her mom needed the help, which helped Mary also because after her shifts she got to go to a mini school. Now we will talk about her father, which she loved even though he wasn’t a great role model. He made poor decisions, as in drinking every time he went past a pub, which caused him to come home every night drunk. She said he was a great man when he was sober but when he was drunk he was a totally different person. Mary also had many sisters and brothers but they all died expect her and two others. Hudson Taylor’s background was pretty average, he had plenty of care from his parents he had very well education, and he grew up pretty normal. People thought her hair was on fire because of how red it was and because no one in that country had seen red hair before so she started to dress like an African. Hudson worked in china. So this made him start to dress up a Chinese man, he was so devoted he dyed his hair black just for it.
