Elizabeth Brown In this paper, I will examine and reflect some of the dilemmas that nurses face on daily basis working with an organization. Some of the dilemmas weigh heavily on nursing ethics and morals, these two examples illuminate features in healthcare situations that present a framework of the constraints often found within an organizations and beaucratic environments. There are complexities and cultures found within organizations, that nurses and other practioners are vulnerable to and are most often there is a lack of sensitive leadership and supportive measures in place for the above workers. I relate the license nurse and practioners role, because they are good examples of not only being a healthcare worker who is responsible for overall care of the patient, but also has ethical and moral decisions to make concerning the welfare of those we are serving. The nurse would receive a new intravenous medication order and the pharmacy would call me for authorization whenever the patient insurance denied the medication as ordered. I would have to make a determination, sometimes the medical doctors office would be called to inquire on a different medication for patient therapy. Sometimes, the medical doctor decides the patient needs that particular medication because of the type of infection involved and the properties associated with lab cultures.
