...INTEGRATED SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT IN THE GOVERNMENT ENVIRONMENT ABSTRACT With the fall of East European Socialist-Bloc and opening up of the Asian markets, the trade barriers began falling during the 1980’s and continued throughout the 1990’s. This development lead to organizations having a supply chain, that criss-crossed the whole globe. The proliferation of trade agreements has thus changed the global business scenarios. The Integrated Supply Chain Management (ISCM) is now not only a problem of integrated logistics (as a process) but also demands that the supply chain management (SCM) must look into the ramifications of these arrangements on the cost of transportation (including tariffs or duties) of products within a trade zone and outside it, besides, developing logistics strategies. The field has thus developed in the last few years for bridging the gap between demand and supply vis-à-vis efficiency and cost trade-offs. The SCM now not only involves the “management of logistic function”, as was done in the past (to achieve internal efficiency of operations) but, includes the management and co-ordination of activities, upstream and downstream linkage(s) in the supply chain. The integrated supply chain management, in particular include : Planning and Managing supply and demand; Warehouse Management; Optimal Inventory control; Transportation and Distribution, Delivery and customer’s delight following the basic principles of supply chain management viz. working together;...

...Looking at the history of the United States, the country has always been a land of immense opportunities. People from different parts of the world have migrated to this land over the past 4 centuries. For many, it is only a dream to live in a country where opportunities are abundant. While many individuals achieve their dream of living in the land of the free by migrating through legal means and procedures, some of them reside in the U.S. illegally by secretly crossing the border or reside in the country after expiration of their authorized stay. Due to this, the impact is not only faced by the non-immigrants who migrate legally and assimilate into the system using the channel of permanent residency and citizenships but also by the existing citizens of the nation. The United States is a country of unlimited prospects and possibilities, but there must be rules to ensure order and prosperity. To accomplish this, the federal government, in 1952, established the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). The act, which has been amended many times since then, still serves as the basic framework for U.S. immigration law. In general, it provides a single comprehensive statue which governs immigration and naturalization policy in the United States. There was very little opposition to the Immigration and Naturalization Act at the time of its adoption, but supporters of the act, both Democrats and Republicans favored it for different reasons. Democrats who are considered to be liberal political...

...associate degree, baccalaureate degree, masters’ degree and nurse practitioner. In beginning we need to understand “What is nursing” in general? As defined by the ANA: Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. In my eyes nursing involves the use of critical thinking and clinical judgment to help us understand a client’s response to actual needs. Both ADN and BSN prepared nurses can provide the similar clinical bedside nursing skills, however, ADN prepared nurses training prepares them for specific patient care diagnoses and situations. BSN prepared nurses training prepares them for a more holistic approach, such as decision making, delegating, and oversight. However, the debate still turns to ADN vs BSN. ADN vs. BSN: Differences in competencies ADN: Associate Degree Nursing Associate degree programs are designed to train students to provide entry level care in a hospital setting. The ADN is an attractive option for many due to shortened program time and the reduced tuition rate. Associate degree nursing programs are developed to focus mainly on the clinical skills and are more task oriented. They lack the theory and science behind nursing as a profession. BSN: Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing Baccalaureate nursing...

...Benefits of Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Nikki Rush State University of New York: The College at Brockport Benefits of Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Many nurses believe there are benefits to obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN). “In October 2010, the Institute of Medicine released its landmark report on The Future of Nursing, initiated by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which called for increasing the number of baccalaureate-prepared nurses in the workforce to 80% by 2020… in response to the demands of evolving healthcare system to meet the changing needs of patients, nurses must achieve higher levels of education” (The American Association of Colleges of Nursing, 2014). In relation to a Bachelor of Science degree, BSN prepared nurses possess clinical and critical decision making skills, and have desirable expected impact and outcomes in the field. Additionally BSN nurses are more sophisticated in nursing care, develop a mastery of skills and techniques learned in nursing school and have better leadership and management skills. One advantage of BSN training is a sophisticated level of nursing skills. BSN prepared nurses demonstrate sophistication in nursing care by being able to practice across critical care, outpatient, community health, clinics and psychiatric health care settings. This instruction leads to and enhances level of care the nurse can provide. Additionally these nurses learn to make quick life of death decisions, arrange...

...human heart would be my passion. I did not have the typical undergraduate experience, as a single mother, my obligations were significantly different from my classmates. School was an arduous task and infinitely more important for me than my classmates, I had more than grades’ riding on my performance, a future of amazing opportunities for my daughter and me was contingent on my success. I began my journey of nursing education at a community college, taking full advantage of the decreased cost and small class size, originally planning on entering the nursing program on that campus earning an Associate’s Degree, but soon after starting classes I knew that I wanted a more comprehensive educational foundation. ... Chris Bartholemew Grand Canyon University NRS430 December 12, 2015 The Differences Between Baccalaureates Versus Associate Degree The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the national voice for baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs, believes that education has a significant impact on the knowledge and competencies of the nurse clinician, as it does for all health care providers. Nurses with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees are well-prepared to meet the demands placed on today's nurse. BSN nurses are prized for their skills in critical thinking, leadership, case management, and health promotion, and for their ability to practice across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. Nurse executives, federal agencies, the military, leading nursing organizations, health care foundations, magnet hospitals, and minority nurse advocacy groups all recognize the unique value that baccalaureate-prepared nurses bring to the practice setting. AACN encourages employers to foster practice environments that embrace lifelong learning and offer incentives for registered nurses (RNs) seeking to advance their education to the baccalaureate and higher...
