Attitude: After reading chapters 1 and 2, I realize how important each strategy in this course will be to my learning objectives. I was able manage my time more effectively by using organization skills, keeping track of deadlines and taking important notes, this course has thought me how to avoid procrastination, and I was excited to see how well I understood and manage my coursework proficiently. I integrated new idea that will help me to become a better writer and will also be useful in my other courses. I had a great learning experience and with this opportunity I will be able to implement creative strategies for learning. After taking this course I now have a clear understanding of how beneficial it is to read and comprehend the information as well as how to become an effective writer. As a result, I believe that the concepts theories, and practical examples provided in this course will help me to become a successful learner. I felt as sense of excitement as I complete my daily writing objectives, and to see how rewarding it has been as a writer.

Inventory: After completing the learning style inventory, it gave me a clear understanding of the type of learner and writer I am. I realize that I accomplish more when I work alone as an independent learner and I believe my strategy of learning helps me to avoid unnecessary distractions. I’m able to figure out the information that’s been illustrated which will allow me to understand the information in a more concise method. From the reading objectives, I learn that I had a different learning strategy which sometimes compels me to learn at the highest level. Moving forward I will continue to use the tools I’ve learned in this course to help me in my future studies as wells as other life experiences. ...Writing has always been intimidating to me. Like many people, I gravitate towards things that I am naturally good at. In school, I would use my strengths in math and science to my advantage to over compensate for my lack of writing ability. I find myself doing that same thing to this day. As a writer, I consider myself to be slightly below average. My inexperience coupled with a lack of interest, turns writing into a grueling process which is ultimately reflected in my writing. My writing is often too wordy and full of details that are not crucial to the point. I also tend to write the same way that I talk. Writing this way may work well in specific genres, but is not for academic writing. As a whole, the writing process is very time consuming for me. My writing skills have become a significant challenge for me, like my driving skills, which I believe worsen due to the Cheetah’s speed I have to encounter on the streets. Focusing on what this class has taught me, I can already say without any doubt that my writing has improved compared to what it was my first day of college.
