...1.) Place yourself in the role of the manager. What should you do now? After considering what happened, would you change any of your behaviors? If I was Pat: Even though Fred wants me to fire Dinah, I believe that if I was to fire her, Dinah would file a lawsuit for wrongful discharge. My values and morals should not be the deciding factor in determining if Dinah’s actions are grounds for dismal. As such, I would meet with Fred, and explain to him the result of my lunch meeting with Dinah. At this time I would request , and even demand if need be, a meeting with the VP of Human Resources, Fred, Mr. Leed, the head of MAGREC, Inc. and MAGREC’s legal counsel. During this meeting all facts would be disclosed as well as my discussions with Dinah and her issues concerning the matter. I understand why Dinah did what she did. However, my understanding cannot decide how MAGREC should move forward with this situation. My recommendation would be to not fire Dinah but to give her the following options: A.) allow her to remain in her current role, B.) allow her to transfer to a new role and under a different chain of command, or C.) allow her to resign with a suitable severance package. These issues with Partco will more than likely have an impact not just on pricing with our other customers, there is a high likelihood that the trust our customers have in MAGEC to deliver an exceptionally high quality and dependable product will be impacted. The reality is that people talk and soon word will...

...years to create who I am today. Within these years, I have been given the freedom to explore the world in order to satisfy my curiosity toward all the strange and wonderful things in the world around me. I grew up in a healthy family. I had an elder sister and a younger brother and this made my childhood days more colorful. My parents both had stable careers and this provided us with more opportunities to learn what we desired to. I remember when I was a young boy; my parents bought us a piano. I have been exploring music ever since my sister started taking piano lessons. This affected me so much that I insisted to my parents that I also wanted to learn piano. So I started my musical journey and continue it to this day. I finally completed my grade eight piano with a merit. After all the hardship I went through, success was finally shown in my result. I did not end my music after I went to secondary school. There, I joined the Chinese Orchestra Society. My purpose in joining this society was to learn more about my own traditional culture's music. I took a position in strings and my musical instrument is named "erhu". It is a traditional Chinese musical instrument similar to the violin. Instead of having 4 strings, an erhu only has two strings which can also produce beautiful musical notes as a violin does. I absolutely love the erhu and I have discovered that with the my background in piano, I am learning with tremendous speed. My teacher said that I am bestowed with talent...

...This week was a difficult one for me, a lot of new concepts and a lot of information was thrown at me but with the media tools I used this week it made it a little easier to get through this week and hopefully the next couple of weeks. One media that helped me in this week’s assignments was the direct chat section on the schools web page. Being able to be in communications with other students helped me understand some sections of this week that I did not understand. It also allowed me to bounce ideas and calibrate on this week’s assignment. Using the discussion board is great but being able to instantly communicate with our team allows us to work better with each other. Another media that helped me big time as the E-book, using the eBook from book shelf makes it easier to navigate back and forth between section and the highlighting section helps keep track of things that I might have to go back and read again or to highlight important section that I think will be needed. I believe this will come in handy later on down the line when it comes time to take the final. These two media tools where very useful this week as this week for some reason felt a little more challenging to me, being able to reach out to team members and have parts that where a little fuzzy helped somewhat clarify certain sections of the chapter. One last media tool or study tool that was very important to my self was the UOF app, I am not always able to be in front of my PC so being able to get on this app from...

...Me, Myself & I By Andrea Bridglal Everyone is born into this world innocent. How you live your life, day by day, the decisions you make, now that’s what really affects you. Sometimes, it might not always be your fault. There are people who will always try to bring you down. They’ll try to hurt you. There will always be someone to tell you that you aren’t good enough. If you let it affect you, now that’s on you. That was my mistake. Growing up in New York City, with a single parent, isn’t the most difficult thing in the world, but it sure isn’t that easy. My parents have been divorced since I was three and I never really had any kind of relationship with my dad. He’s an alcoholic and growing up, I realized I would never have the bond that I wanted to have with him. Unfortunately, it took me way to long to realize that. Instead, I pushed away the people who did care and those who did try to be there for me; my grandparents, my uncle, and most importantly, my mom. I felt like I was alone even though I wasn’t. Not only did I push people away, I found it very difficult to let people in. On top of that, I was different. I come from a West Indian, Islamic background and growing up as a minority made it even harder to make friends. September 11, 2001 changed my life completely. No, I didn’t lose a loved one but I did lose something with equal value, self respect. My self-esteem was shot at 7 years old. I became ashamed of who I am, the color of my skin, the texture of...

...I have no single philosophy for life, but rather three philosophies. Each of which has different meaning. My three philosophies include the following: work hard, take pride in myself and the accomplishments that I make, and also everyone is on this planet for a reason. In the following paragraphs I will explain each of my three philosophies. From this, I hope that others will understand why I look at life the way that I do. The first of my three philosophies, to work hard, can be very easily explained. I feel that if money or a gift given to me by another person because I earned the reward is much more valued. In other words, knowing that I worked hard, did a good job, and deserve a reward makes me feel good inside. I also feel that all persons should have to work and support themselves. If a person doesn't wish to put forth any effort and work hard to support themselves, then that person deserves nothing. The next of my three philosophies is to take pride in myself and the accomplishments that I make. I have found that if I don't take pride in myself and what I do than I might as well give up on life. My reason for this being that no one else will think highly of me if I, myself, don't. I always set goals for myself before I begin a project or take part in an activity. My rule is to "Set my goals high, but obtainable," and although I may not always reach all of my goals that I have set, I should always be proud of what I have done. My final philosophy, everyone is...

...Me, I and myself I always ask myself: is it me, when I do something; could I do it better this time or did I do it for myself. I have time to think about these things while working. I work as a photographer and this job gives me a chance to express myself. It helps me even to understand some things better, because at first view I see things one’s way but after a while a see them completely different. The job gives me even the freedom to choose what to shoot and so the theme of my pictures often responds to my mood at that day. Or I can take pictures that will make me feel better than I do at that moment. Being a photographer is a job with so many various purposes – as many as the people are. Some photographers make only black and white pictures, other make colorful or extravagant or pictures that help in a science. The objective of the camera is like an eye of a man - everyone sees the world in a different way. But nobody can’t hide behind his work, even if he tries – it shows what we are. The most important thing for a picture to become a good one is to have its own feeling. When you a see a picture and it touches you, it rises in you some kind of feeling, that means that this capture was worth. Looking at some pictures make me think about many things and sometimes I can even change my point of view about something. While taking a picture I think about what’s my purpose for shooting exactly this or that. But after the picture is ready, it could...

...interfere with their growing? Salt along with other things that occur outside on a regular day might affect the plants growing. My question is does salt affect a plants growth. Well in order to find this out I have to state all the facts and remember what is significant. The basic requirements for any gardening plant to survive are water, nutrients, the right temperature and light, but all in differing amounts depending on the type of plant. Plants also need air and a growing medium, somewhere to put their roots down. Water is essential for a garden plants survival, not only to stop them from dehydrating, but also to get them to absorb nutrients. Water also cools the leaves as it evaporates. Rain and snow will travel down through the soil, some will run off into streams or ditches, some will sink down to the water table, some will be lost to evaporation and some will be left in the soil. Plants will use the water left in the soil, which can be up to two thirds of any rainfall. So, it is important to provide correct watering for any plant to survive, and grow. It is even more important to provide correct watering for gardening plants in pots and containers as they are unable to find water for themselves. A lot of thing and objects can hinder plants and their growth. I feel in order for the experiment to come out as a success all precautions have to be taken. Every step and material has to be perfect. Air pollution does not only damage the air; it also...

...Emotions are one’s state of mind and natural responses, but scientific discourse has drifted to other meanings. It’s also evident that emotion senses on the meanings. I have experienced more positive emotions over the past four day. These emotions are characterized by happiness and positive expectations. These emotions are expectation of a brighter future. This because I had been informed a job opportunity had been secured on my behalf. This has been my dream since I was born. This was a dream come true because, I have always been thinking about the job. These positive emotions brought about anxiety in me thus I was not able to settle. I have also had negative emotions in the last four days. These emotions have generated negative thoughts in me. This can be as a result to a response of an expected trip that I was eager to be present. I could not believe my ears to hear that the trip had been cancelled due to the fact that one of our friends had lost their parents. The fact that I was not aware also brought about a negative emotion (Cassady & Eissa, 2009). Emotions are complex. According to some theories, they are a state of feeling that results in physical and psychological changes that influence our behavior. This can also be linked to the arousal of the nervous system with various states and strengths of arousal relating, apparently, to particular emotions. It’s also linked in some way to behavioral tendency. A similar description can be derived from the sociology....

...Styles After taking the LSI (Life Styles Inventory) survey, I noticed certain things about my personality and my thinking styles. Certain styles rated higher than others, but there were a few that stayed constant. The two longest style extensions have the greatest influence on my behavior, and are called your primary and backup styles. Going through these styles in particular, I noticed my primary style is approval and my backup style is conventional style. In the LSI index, “The Approval scale measures our need to be accepted by others to increase or sustain our feelings of self-worth. While the desire to be approved of is natural, problems occur when approval-seeking becomes a need, and ultimately our standard way of interacting with others.” This means I need people to approve my lifestyle. I try so hard for people to impress people with my personality and character, but sometimes it’s not enough. This style is categorized as having low self-esteem, an over concern with wanting to be liked as well as complications with conflict and confrontation. In this case, I am the type of person who tries very hard to be liked by others. Sometimes it can backfire because I show a persona of myself to people where I will act like someone I am not so that they accept me. In this world we live in, it’s a dog eat dog world where people don’t care about your feelings. They will do anything to get to the top of ladder. Personally, I am the type of person who truly feels better when someone approves...

Some of us may have more natural abilities than others, the same way that some of us seem inclined towards music or mathematics. But just like any other skill, psychic abilities can be trained and enhanced. The following exercise can help to increase your natural psychic skills. Meditate.
