...wherever you go” Joshua 1:9. This bible verse is one of my favorites due to the fact that no matter the sins I have committed he will always be by my side and be the light that directs me down the path I am meant to be on. God has put me on this Earth for a reason and has as plan for me. It is up to myself to figure out the plan God has planned for me and it is important for me to know that God will be with me through it all no matter the circumstance. In order for me to discover my divine design, I first must understand myself as well as my strengths and weakness in terms of interaction with people, the way I learn, the way I make my decisions and how I deal with the world around me. Right now God is asking me to be the best person possible. He brought me to Southeastern for a reason and I am still trying to figure out that exact reason but it feels right being here. I love to be around my close friends and listen to what they have to say and then give them advice about life and the things going on around them. I am an extroverted person so I am not very shy. I believe that in the future God’s plan for me is to be around a group of young adults, maybe young kids or high school aged (young adults). I love to interact with people and I get my energy from others so being around a young group of young people would be perfect for me, kind of like a small group that gathers once a week and just talks about life. God has given me multiple spiritual gifts, but one that I really like...

In reference to my Humanistic-Encouraging score, I believe the survey could not be more correct. My results state that I believe that I can help people improve, and enjoy guiding and supporting their efforts and that I tend to use my skills regular and proficiently. Also, it indicates that seeing the best in people is important to me. In fact, my ability to combine an acceptance of others as they are with the inspiration and encouragement they need to become even better is what might me makes me a valuable mentor, manager, co-worker worker, and friend. I agree with the results because there is nothing I would not do for my friends and I accept them just as they are. I have known my best friend for 17 years now and one of the reasons that I love her so much is because she is so different from me. She is naturally loud, always dancing and into fashion. She is what I would be if there was another Lilly. I am more of bookworm than she is but while we were in middle school and in high school together, I would help her out to achieve her potential. She just needs a little push in certain areas to be the best she can be. Furthermore, if you do not accept people the way they are what good can that bring to the relationship you have with them...

...People are dynamic and ever-changing based on their different experiences. We all share this fluidity in our personalities by the way we identify ourselves and the way the world perceives us. This is called our identity. Our identity is a collection of the unique differences we possess and what ties us together in groups, clubs, or even countries. I observe myself as a person who is particularly dedicated. The identity I have formed for myself has shaped the way I interact with classmates, friends, and family. It defines who I am today and who I will be tomorrow. Dedication has pushed me, kept me back, warped my perceptions and ideals, and has given me my drive to succeed. My commitment and ability to fully apply myself and focus on a single...

For specific, the first day I came here, I called for my mother, my voice was change because I cried too much, but lie her that I was sick. However, when I talked with my father, he realized that, he told me to be stronger, he can share everything with me, and I should stop to share. Why he can know that? ...As people, when we meet other people throughout our lives we usually begin to categorize or classify them and place a level of importance with them as well. For the people I have encountered in my life, I would classify them as supportive and the most important people in my life are my family. My family has been supportive of me since birth. As a child I was raised by a single mother along with my older brother and my two older sisters. Although things were difficult at times, my family always cared for me and consistently supported me as I grew older and developed in life. My family has supported me throughout my years of school and studies. They have always encouraged me to do the best I can and to always put as much effort into something as I can. There is no doubt in my mind that my family has always wanted me to succeed, though when I did fail, my family listened to me, took the time to understand how I felt, and then just encouraged me to pick myself back up and to try again. Growing up as the youngest, I was surrounded with support and encouragement from my older siblings. My older sisters spent quality time with me and always swore to protect me. My mother fed and cared for me. She taught me self-respect, self-discipline, and understanding the consequences of my actions while still showing me love every day. My older brother respected me, taught me to drive, and explained to me how to know when a guy was treating me right. My cousins are some of my best friends and...

The enduring lessons I have gained from President’s Seminar are communication skills, keeping negative thoughts and people out of my life, and balance. A struggle that I have on a daily basis is properly communicating with people around me. Being peers, people with authority, or speaking in class, it is my biggest fear and problem that holds me back from contributing to conversations and class discussions. President Quibein said that the most popular biggest fear that people have is public speaking. In my case, that is completely true. If I need to present in class, speak...

...October 2014 My Inspiration Everyone needs to be inspired and having others inspire someone can only have positive effects on them. As a child one finds a person in their life to look up to and motivate them to do great things. Our Secrets by Susan Griffin tells how people in her past make her the way she is today. Many people in my live inspire me to do great things and live up to the potential I have. So many people in my live inspired me and continue to do so as I mature into adulthood. My dance teacher, grandmother, uncle, and mom all inspire me as a young child and they things they said and did are now put in to action as I see myself becoming an adult and on my own. Throughout “Our Secret” Griffin explores the different characters’ fears and secrets and she gives specific insights into these “secrets”. Through examining others Griffin comes to terms with her own feelings, secrets, and fears. Susan Griffin states, “Now, for different reasons, I too find myself on the track of a child’s soul. The dimensions of Heinrich Himmler’s life have put me on this track.’” (239). This saying the book leads me to think that Himmler shaped her and made her who she is today. My life is shaped around people who motivate to be successful. My family and friends are the ones who lead me to where I am today. Going to college was not an option it was necessary. My dance teacher, my uncle, grandmother, and mother installed the wisdom I have today. My family is very important to me; they have encouraged...

...I have experienced many stereotypes, and when people stereotype me I feel judged. For instance, I constantly have people ask me if my hair is fake. When I am at work, most of my African Americans customers ask me insulting questions. I am mostly asked if my hair is real or do I have extensions. In addition, people ask how I get my hair so straight and do I have a perm. When customers ask me these questions I feel judged, because they are trying to figure out why my hair is a certain way. More simply, people who are the same race as me often believe we are all supposed to be the same, so they often judges me and believe that majority of African Americans have the same experiences. I feel people stereotype me when they ask certain questions about...

...My political philosophy has been molded by my family, the people around me, and the places I've been. My parents have been the greatest blessing in my life. Their wisdom has been instrumental in any successes I've ever had. They've instilled the value of perseverance and have taught me to never quit. They've explained how vital education is and shown me how important family is. My father has shown me what it means to be a leader and a true man of God. My mother has demonstrated what it means to genuinely love other people and to be a servant for others. I try to model my life after theirs because of how amazing and loving they are, and not just because they tell me to. They teach me what they believe, but they also encourage me to make my...

...In my life, there have been many people that have helped shape who I am today, and there are many experiences that I have had to help as well. There are many things that I might not have done if it weren't for the influences that I had. For my career goals, I plan to finish my welding technology degree here at Mitchell and plan on going to CPCC to get a little bit more training on welding there with some different processes. I then plan to work for a couple of years to gain experience so I will be able to begin training to become a welding inspector, which is my goal. As for personal goals, I achieved my goal a few months ago, which was earning the Eagle Scout award. I do have some others though, for example, I would like to receive the Vigil honor in the Order of the Arrow soon, and I would also like to be elected Lodge Chief. I would also like to place at our Dixie fellowship...

...Since I was little I’ve always liked helping people. It never mattered if they asked for help on something that I didn’t know how to do, I’d help them as much as I could. Before it was always help on homework or things that they wanted me to do. Most recently I have been through some things that really affected the way that I want to help people. I’ve met some people with really hard lives, which made me realize that I want to help people with depression. When I talk to these people they tell me about what’s happening in their lives, and it saddens me that no one else has tried to help them or even listen to them. I have an amazing family. Everyone supports everything that I do if it makes me happy. My family has shaped me into who I am today. As a little girl, I was always told “do to one, as you would do to yourself.” So, I always did. My parents raised me to be respectful to people who respected me. They were with me through tough times and through good times, and I know they will be there for me in the future when I need them to be. Growing up around both my mom and my dad, I’ve learned a lot through what they do, and how they treat people. I believe thats the reason that I dream to help people. Another thing that has encouraged me to help people is my music. The music that I listen to gets me through some bad times when I don’t want to talk to anyone. If you listen to the lyrics, they actually mean something. Usually the lyrics talk about the bad times and things the...
