MetaWriting
The essay was a little difficult for me to compose because the subject matter that I related to was a little heard to discuss. I had made specific points in the writing where I thought it might be necessary. Also for me the toughest part of the essay was staring it. I frequently will have writers block and can't seem to move on. At times I stared at the screen for an hour or so. I decided to go with the route of writing the body paragraphs first because it was fresh in my head and I had wrote down sample paragraphs and chunked some of the material and into my body paragraphs. At first I needed to have an idea of what my thesis was going to be before I had started my body paragraph's. I had chosen three topics of discussion in my thesis. This had given me a breakthrough on my paper.
My pre-writing had consisted of many quotes I had used to compare the authors life to mine. I had wrote down the page and panels for my quotes, giving me an easier time citing. At times I did return to my prewriting because there were certain quotes that didn't fit with the material I was covering. Also I had written down some vocabulary words I didn't understand, so later on I could look them up and understand the meaning. However I didn't use as many vocabulary words as I would of liked from the story The old man, Old Articifer. In my pre-writing I didn't try anything new because the whole idea of pre-writing was new to me.
My drafting process consisted of writing the body paragraphs first before my introduction as well as my conclusion. It made it easier for me because I had my shaping done before hand. I used all my ideas from my shaping paragraphs and was able to chunk those into my body paragraphs. While i was in my shaping stage, I had used the mindset of writing my body paragraphs.
