...statistics shows that electricity cause more than 20,000 fire a year, almost half of all accidental UK house fire. Each year, about 70 people are killed and 350,000 are seriously injured due to an electrical accident in the UK. Modern living has meant we use more and more electrical appliances in the home. For instance, just 20 years ago the average uk home had a hi-fi system and one TV whereas today it is more likely that there are at least two TVs, games console, microwave and computer.so that risk of electricity accidents in the homes are more higher than before. It has seen in the UK that there are lots of people drying their cloths on electrical heater. This is particularly dangerous and could cause electric shock or fire. Heater have ventilation slots to prevent overheating. If this slots are covered up, the appliance could over heat and catch fire. Many time people are drilling the wall to fix nail without knowing what is behind it.it may be gas line or electrical line behind wall. By this way we can invite trouble at home. We can expect to find around four socket in an average room in the house. Although this is enough for most purpose, an increase in the use of the computers, games consoles and other appliances has led to the number of sockets being needed in an average room to increase to eight....

...electromagnetic field radiation (EMF) and it is emanating from virtually every single electrical appliance, computer, electric wire, TV, radio, microwaves and especially high voltage lines (overhead and buried) which are carrying current. Electric fields are measured in units of volts per meter or V/m. Magnetic fields are measured in milli-Gauss or mG. The field is always strongest near the source and diminishes as you move away from the source. These energies have the ability to influence particles at great distances. For example, the radiation from a radio tower influences the atoms within a distant radio antenna, allowing it to pick up the signal. Despite the many wonderful conveniences of electrical technology, the effects of EMF on biological tissue remains the most controversial aspect of the EMF issue with virtually all scientists agreeing that more research is necessary to determine safe or dangerous levels. Iron, necessary for healthy blood and stored in the brain, is highly effected by EMF. The permeability of the cell membrane of our nerves, blood vessels, skin, and other organs is effected. The intricate DNA of the chromosomes has been shown to be effected by EMFs as well. In fact, throughout our bodies, every biochemical process involves precisely choreographed movement of EMF-sensitive atoms, molecules, and ions. Danger of EMFs After more than 25 years of intensive study. The Swedish government has established a safety limit for exposure to ELF magnetic...

...using some form of technology, from a coffee maker to a microwave. Though it can be argued that technology is bad thing for you, but if you think about all the good things that have come from technology you may think differently. However, in the United States, almost everyone cannot live without technology, and are solely dependent on it in everyday. Even though we use technology everyday it doesn’t mean that it’s a bad thing. If you think about it, technology has given us computers, iPods, and cell phones. We have used it to take us to the Moon, and received pictures from mars using a satellite. Not only has technology brought us to outer space, but we have used it to help many people as well. Without our advances in medicine many people would be dead, and others would have had much shorter life spans. Thinking about all the things we have done with medical science it’s astonishing. We have cured many diseases as well as making it possible for people who didn’t think they had a chance of having a child now can. One of the most widely used technologies would be the internet. Even though the web is made primarily as an information source, we have used it more as a way of connecting to each other in a new way. Many good things have happened because of technology, but is having too much, a good thing or a bad thing? For example, almost everyone in United States uses a cell phone everyday in their lives. The danger behind this is that many people still use their cell phones...

...Reasons there is Obesity in America. Norma A. England COMM/215 March 2, 2014 David Libhart Reasons there is Obesity in America. Obesity in America is a growing problem, doubling the percentage of people affected since 1990. (Menifield, 2008). Two thirds of Americans considered obese, having a body mass index of thirty and above. (Ward-Smith, 2010). In 2000, obese people cost the country 117 billion dollars, 61 billion dedicated to medical bills. People who are obese suffer from many medical conditions and cost more money to insure medically. Medical insurance/rates for an obese person are 36% more than they are for a healthy individual. (Ward-Smith, 2010). Obesity will continue to grow in America as long as diets remain the same, fast food addictions continue, openness to surgery stays and the sugarcoated speeches to overweight people continue. Background The average American consumes 500-800 calories more than what they need on a daily basis. (Marks, 2004). This type of overeating on a daily basis creates a day-to-day diet that is unhealthy. In America, we are aware of what our diets should be. We as a group, have an understanding that we need to work on portion control. We have doctors, nutritionists, fitness experts and more all available either in person or online. The problem we face is that we also have fake information and fad diets that promise unhealthy and unrealistic results. The Internet is full of detox drinks, frozen meals, pills and more that...

...Research Review on the Biological Effect of Cell Phone Radiation on Human 1, 2 Ashraf A. Aly1, Safaai Bin Deris2, Nazar Zaki3 Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia 3 College of Information Technology, UAE University, UAE Ashraf.ahmed@uaeu.ac.ae, safaai@utm.my, nzaki@uaeu.ac.ae increased incidence rate of traffic accidents due to the use of mobile phone while driving. The risk of exposure to electromagnetic field was first highlighted and publicized in the late 1970s by Colorado study [2] that linked magnetic field exposure from power lines to the possible development of child leukemia. The amount of RF generated by cell phone is usually depends on the number of base stations around the area, the cell phone network traffic, and on how far the cell phone from base stations. The amount of the power which sent from a base station could vary from cell phone to another one even within the same area, depends on the interfering from obstacles such as buildings and trees [3]. Although, cell phones are designed to operate at power levels below a threshold for known thermal effects, radio frequency radiation could produce other kinds of effects, called biological effects. In Figure 1, we show a calculation of specific absorbed radiation (SAR) distribution in an anatomical model of human head positioned next to a 125 mW dipole antenna. The resulted Peak SAR is 9.5 W/kg over 1 mg which is a clear indication of the effect. Abstract The growth...

...from Greek "kybernetes", meaning "To steer" and the term "terrorism" comes from French terrorisme, from Latin word 'terror', "great fear", "dread", related to the Latin verb terrere, "to frighten". Cyber terrorism denotes unlawful attacks and threats of attack against computers, networks and information stored therein to intimidate or coerce a government or its people for propagating hidden political or unlawful social and religious agendas. These attacks result in violence against persons or property or cause public unrest. Few examples could be explosions, plane crashes and severe losses. Terrorists are known to use internet to prepare the schemes, raise funds and spread cyber terrorism. For instance, Razmi Yousef who was a key person behind World Trade Centre attack had details schemes to destroy United States airliners encrypted files in his laptop computer. We know that Cyber terrorism is the crime that has emerged in recent times, to use the medium of Internet to terrorize the minds of citizens. Admirably, the Laws through the implementation of the Information technology Act, 2000, is one of the efficient steps taken towards the creation of punishment of these kinds of crimes. There is need of innovative laws and global standards on preventive action. The Indian Information Technology Amendment Act 2008 lays down Section 66F as a specific provision dealing with the issue of cyber terrorism that covers denial of access, unauthorized access, introduction of computer contaminant...

...1. Communication technologies are far from equivalent. A recent study comparing honesty across a range of different media revealed that people were twice likely to tell lies when using the phone than when communicating via e-mail. It had previously been assumed that people would be more inclined to fabricate the truth when using e-mail, due to the remoteness of the interaction making people more comfortable about deceiving others. On the contrary, it seems that anxiety over the accountability afforded by the recording of e-mail exchanges induces greater truthfulness. However, the research also noted that people are much more likely to be rude or insulting over e-mail, outweighing any benefits of increased honesty! An implication of the study is that if telephone conversations are recorded and people are aware of this fact, they are likely to be more truthful over the phone. T People are unconcerned about the repercussion of e-mail untruths. F It had been assumed that people would communicate more honestly when using e-mail than when using the telephone. F 2. There is often considerable scientific disagreement both about available reserves of natural resources and about the extent of environmental damage caused by particular pollutants. Even where the scientific evidence is incontrovertible. There may be political conflict, based on different vested interests, over the degree to which particular environmental controls should be accepted. Governments may, for example...

...in our lives. Cell phone technology has changed quickly over time and continues to develop, which means that human exposures also change over time. This report explores what we know about cell phone use, exposures, and human health. Impact of mobile phone technology in environment: The Cell Phone Problem Electromagnetic Radiation _ All cell phones emit a type of radiation called an electromagnetic field (EMF), composed of waves of electric and magnetic energy moving together through space. Different types of electromagnetic energy are categorized by their wavelengths and frequencies and comprise the electromagnetic “spectrum” (see next page). _ Different radiation frequencies are used by different technologies. Radio waves and microwaves emitted by transmitting antennas are a form of electromagnetic energy collectively referred to as radiofrequency (RF) energy or radiation. _ The RF part of the electromagnetic spectrum consists of frequencies in the range of about 3 kilohertz (3 kHz) to 300 gigahertz (300 GHz). RF energy is used in telecommunications services, including radio and...
