“Tuesday’s with Morrie” “Tuesdays with Morrie,” was written by author Mitch Albom, inspired by his college professor Morrie Schwarts. Morrie being a great college professor, and Mitch one of his favorite students, will come together for something they promised to do, but never actually accomplished. As time and life went on, the two ended up further apart and eventually no communication at all, which they promised wouldn't happen. In this book readers see how aging, forgiveness, family, and special people can effect life in such big ways, some good, others not so much. As the story begins, Morrie’s life is quickly coming to an end, but he is still trying to live the best possible life. Morrie even gets to come on the News channel and tell …show more content…
On the morning show Morrie talks about how he wants to give young people the best and also his last lesson of life, which will be the meaning of life, little does he know it will end up being Mitch. With Morrie living with in-house nurses, constantly taking pills, attending therapy, loosing abilities like driving, walking, etc he has realized how easy it was to take things for granted and how important it is to live life the right way, which is loving, forgiving, and happiness. For Mitch, he was completely opposite, young, healthy, able to do anything he wanted, yet he had settled for less and became a journalist instead of being a famous musician or piano player he had once dreamed of being. While everything was coming to an end for Morrie, Mitch could still be starting something, but was letting the problems of the world get in his way and take away that happiness, drive, and even the love away. Just like in …show more content…
It so easy to take the easy way out, and in some ways Morrie is talking about that. I know that I have taken the easy way out, mainly because I just gave up and have not been pushing myself, and now I regret that. “Forgive yourself before you die. Then forgive others (Pink Monkey).” Being able to see and hear everything that Morrie learned through out his life, is something we all need to start realizing now, instead of when we are laying in our death bed. We all need someone to give us some sort of help to get through this crazy thing called life and learning the true meaning to life is a perfect way to do that. Something as simple as going to see Morrie every Tuesday for Mitch was life changing, and what Morrie is trying to get out is doing things such as that can be your own true meaning of life. Morrie likes helping people, loves seeing them happy, and loves to see them do great things, something I wish all people wanted. “So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning, said by Mitch

...What is easy for some is not easy for all, a familiar saying but one that may not be used very often. This saying applies directly to what it can be like finding one’s identity. When I started high school I thought I had myself all figured out, I could not have been more wrong. I’ve learned from experience that so many things shape who you are and how you’re going to turn out: specific situations, people, items, it’s honestly endless. With endless possibilities comes an endless exploration to find one’s self. I must say though, people have shaped me more than anything. As you begin to get close with people you really get to know them, when this happens you may find flaws. Above all the closer you get with someone the more their behavior can change. I feel that change in behavior is what made me think about people. Some good things and some bad. This exact behavioral change has made me feel different from many. I feel like sometimes people just don’t care enough, but being going to my high school in particular has made me see only a very small piece. I am looking to find more out of people, and by coming here to Utica I have met new people that have shown me there is more culture and kindness in the world. This will give me more hope for myself and more hope for the world, to find others that are more like me, things that have already begun to happen. Situations are almost equally as important, each and every day I face situations that change how I view others and myself...
