What made me interested in reading the article was the reader pointing out that the public service waring Drink, Drive, Lose isn’t really working nowadays and most states are going to a new program called 24/7 Sobriety. This new program should make sure that people who drink and drive really think about the consequences to their actions and that most states are not playing anymore. I think this article was written for people who have a problem with drinking and driving and for the people who are angry that people who drink and drive are not being properly punished. This article should reassure people that some states are working towards making sure that the punishment fits the crime. If you drink and drive the punishment will be swift and sure of, instead of just a slap on the wrist. The purpose of this article is to show that some states are serious about the consequences of drinking and driving. If you keep on drinking and driving and risking people’s life you will do jail time. You may also lose your job, your wife, and you will definitely lose money due to court costs and lawyer fees. This information could help us now because it is showing that states are really starting to crack down on drinking and driving. You won’t be able to slip through the cracks anymore. You will be held accountable for your actions. This article left a lot of questions unanswered. A couple of which are who has to pay for the breathalizers, who has to pay for the wristbands, and how much more money will the taxpayers have to pay to keep this system going. I think that the people who drink and drive should have to pay for everything. You made the mistake now you pay for it.
