...The film ‘Gallipoli’ based off the war in 1915 that was held in Gallipoli demonstrates mateship and the qualities of mateship throughout the Australian and New Zealand soldiers. Peter Weir who is the director of the movie has shown friendship through the two main characters Archy and Frank when it shows the way they care for one another, when they go into the desert and train together, when Archy lets Frank be a runner and sacrifices his life so that Frank won’t get killed. Towards the start of the film Frank didn't like Archy at all and they were sort of rivalries but by the end of the film it is shown how much Frank really did care for him. It shows this when Frank ran back to the frontline to stop them going ahead with fighting so that Archy wouldn't die. It also shows that they cared for each other when Frank is determined to help him get to the frontline and be able to fight as well as when Frank decides to go with him. The whole film is based on the way they care for each other but with caring comes mateship and so therefore Peter Weir shows mateship throughout this movie with the relationship of Archy and Frank....
