Introduction

The hospital involved in this case study attempted to further develop their nurses’ knowledge, skills and abilities by introducing a new training program. Currently, many of the nurses and the nurse supervisors were against performance evaluations because they believed that they did not have enough time to complete them and that it would not increase the success of the hospital. Once the new training model was introduced, multiple nurse supervisors did not take it seriously and some did not complete the entire training. The hospital needs to improve this training program and search for alternative solutions to improve the interaction and counselling of patient families from the nurses.
