Nancy Pelosi is one of the most powerful, influential women of the 21st century. She took many by surprise by being the first female minority democratic leader of the House of Representatives. She shocked them even more when she became the first female Speaker of the House of Representatives. I chose Nancy Pelosi because she exceeded the expectations of women in congress. Once she was appointed speaker of House, she was an inspiration to women all over the world by showing that women can do whatever they put their minds to.
