I. INTRODUCTION
IMPORTANCE OF ON-THE-JOB TRAINING

On the job Training are part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient students about the work and their future career. OJT is very important not only to teach students their chosen career but to show students the reality about working. On the Job Training is very important and should not be taken for granted, here’s why: • Aside from the high evaluation grade that you will receive from the employer, the employer may absorbed or offer you a job after graduation. • Your background OJT experience is very important when applying a job. Employers often asked about the OJT experience and how it is related on the job that you are applying for. • The OJT experience that you have can land you a great job. Especially in Media related jobs, most employers often asked and require an OJT experience from a media company. For instance, a news writer who is applying in a TV Network has great advantage if he/she has an OJT experience in a Media company like TV, Radio or Publishing. • Your superior in the company that you are working for as an OJT may recommend your skills to the company affiliates or to other company that he/she knows. • OJT will be your training ground. If you still have no idea on what is meant to be a worker, OJT will give you at least 10% of career realities. • The company that you are currently applying in often makes a background check to successful applicants. If you have included your OJT adviser or employer in your character references, the company may contact them to ask information about your skills and knowledge as their student or intern. • You can consider your OJT experience as your guide on your first days at work, especially if your OJT and current work are related. You can use your experience and observation as an OJT to your current job if you still have issues on adjustments. Most students have taken their OJT for granted; not realizing the importance it can bring on their future career. Having a good performance during OJT is very important especially now that there’s a tight competition towards job seekers and the high qualification of companies.

HISTORY OF THE FIRM

BIRTH OF A REFRESHING IDEA The product that has given the world its best-known taste was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 8, 1886. Dr. John Stith Pemberton, a local pharmacist, produced the syrup for Coca-Cola®, and carried a jug of the new product down the street to Jacobs' Pharmacy, where it was sampled, pronounced "excellent" and placed on sale for five cents a glass as a soda fountain drink. Carbonated water was teamed with the new syrup to produce a drink that was at once "Delicious and Refreshing," a theme that continues to echo today wherever Coca-Cola is enjoyed. Thinking that "the two Cs would look well in advertising," Dr. Pemberton's partner and bookkeeper, Frank M. Robinson, suggested the name and penned the now famous trademark "Coca-Cola" in his unique script. The first newspaper ad for Coca-Cola soon appeared in The Atlanta Journal, inviting thirsty citizens to try "the new and popular soda fountain drink." Handpainted oilcloth signs reading "Coca-Cola" appeared on store awnings, with the suggestion "Drink" added to inform passersby that the new beverage was for soda fountain refreshment. During the first year, sales averaged a modest nine drinks per day. Dr. Pemberton never realized the potential of the beverage he created. He gradually sold portions of his business to various partners and, just prior to his death in 1888, sold his remaining interest in Coca-Cola to Asa G. Candler. An Atlantan with great business acumen, Mr. Candler proceeded to buy additional rights and acquire complete control.

NARRATION OF EXPERIENCE

April 12, 2010, I started my on-the job training. I was very scared to leave our house and go for because of some reasons, one of those reason is that I don’t know if I have the guts to do everything that the trainer will ask me to do. I’m quite nervous and excited because I know that I can learn a lot of opportunity that was given to me. Challenging because I will have to adapt to the new environment and work with people whom I don’t know. On my first day, they have given me a task to update the bulletin board which is need to compute their sales volume and sales to trade account, they also ask me to sort and arrange receipts, invoice and company financial statements and documents. I was really nervous but I said to my self that I need to be calm to do the task perfectly. Day after day, they giving me additional task and sometimes the sales manager teach me some techniques in computers to make my work fast and easily done. The people in the office are all nice, they made me feel welcome and belong to them like their officemate, they always Crack funny jokes, they are very eager to help and teach me something new that will definitely improve my skills that I can apply in times that I am hired in a particular company. As the months and days goes by I got familiar with those task, works and challenge that they assigned me to do and I’m very thankful that I surpass all that challenge and thankful because I learned many things from them and last thankful because I was become a coca-cola family.

Scene Narrative

...Task: Write a fictional narrative with one scene The grass beneath his paws was cold, as it was always this time of year. Autumn's refreshing draft of cool air filled the valley, kissing the river in front of the Husky. The shades of orange, red, and brown around him were typical of course, but there was no harm in hoping these colors would not accompany the fall season this year. The feeling of vibrant energy with dull decay had always struck a chord in his chest. "Is this really necessary Jack?" he shouted further down the river bank, glaring down a red fox pawing softly at the river's current. "Calm down pup, this'll only take a minute if I can just lay a paw on a single fish," Jack shot back quickly with obvious frustration stemming from his voice. His fur was already drenched at his previous attempts, but this did not stray him from his persistence. The Husky had already begun lying down on the bank's shore, paying little attention to Jack's assurance of success. He let out a sigh and licked his front paws. He'll never learn, why does my closest friend have to be the only fox around who can't even catch the smallest of fish? The sound of a splash rang out down the bank. He rolled his eyes knowing this couldn't possibly be the sound of a fish having been caught, but the sound of Jack slipping into the stream. Frustrated at the sound of Jack's obvious failure, he stood to his paws once again, bitter his rest was interrupted so soon. The pack had ordered them...

Themes and Narratives

...Theme and Narrative Elements ENG125: Introduction to Literature (AFG1232A) Instructor: Stacey Novak Written By: Christie McCauley August 20, 2012 2 Theme and Narrative Elements The main theme of the story is to give insight on giving selfless gifts much as the wise men did for Jesus. The color grey is used in the short story and it is another symbol for sadness. We see in the story sadness is very much an emotion the main character feels when she does not have money for a gift for her husband. , There are many symbols throughout the story as well; such as the description of the cold winter. Winter is a symbol of stagnation and this couple is financially struggling as we see. It will be explained more at the end of the story when both people give selflessly their prize possessions so they can give a much desired gift to their spouse they are magi’s themselves. The theme for “The Gift of the Magi” is that love is more important than any material item. Della and Jim, the two main characters, demonstrated the theme. The act of gift giving is done selflessly with love; those gifts mean more that any expensive gift could mean. The wise men gave their gifts to Jesus as selfless gifts of love. This idea can be used as an example for the narrative term Archetype which means the use of a famous concept, person or object to convey a wealth of meaning. To contrast their richness with love the depressing condition of their apartment is given. It is described...

Narrative Assignment

...Unit 2 Narrative Assignment Lourena Dent Kaplan University HU300 – 10 The Tortoise and the Hare: Slow and Steady Wins the Race Steadiness, although progress may be slow, will eventually be more beneficial than being rushed or careless just to get something completed. Mythical stories, fairy tales, and fables have been among the collective unconscious told and passed down for generations to teach the listener/reader morals. The link between the stories and person being told help them understand situations that can lead to a victorious outcome. With determination, one can succeed at almost anything. Our earliest encounters with literature, the stories told or read to us, probably influenced our expectations of later life (Janaro & Altshuler, 2012, p. 56). A well known fable by Aesop, “The Tortoise and the Hare”, is a story that supports the importance of consistency and consequences of arrogance. The fable tells of a hare that boasted about his speed to others. There was a wise tortoise that he repeatedly teased about being very slow. The tortoise became fed up with the hare’s arrogance and challenged the hare to race against him. Both animals agree to a race, and at the start the hare races ahead while the tortoise slowly plows forward. With the tortoise moving so slow the hare was sure a nap wouldn’t jeopardize his chance to beat the tortoise. Waking from a short nap, the hare begins running while leaving the tortoise behind moving at a slow but steady pace. Observing...

Principles for Interpreting Narratives

...Narratives are meaningful stories that retell past events about specific characters (Fee and Stuart, 2003).  Biblical narratives are just like narratives except they are inspired by the Holy Spirit. Biblical narratives tell God's story. Biblical narratives have three components characters, plot, and plot resolution (Fee and Stuart, 2003). The characters include a protagonist, which is the main person in the story (Fee and Stuart,  2003).  An antagonist which is the person that causes the conflict and lastly, agonist which role is to support the main characters in the story.  A narrative main function is to retell a story using specific characters.      When interpreting narratives it is easy to make common mistakes associated with interpreting narratives. Although, there are many errors people make when interpreting narratives, I will only list three, which are moralizing, personalizing, and lastly misappropriation.     The first, error is moralizing. Moralizing assumes that moral teachings or principles for living can be taught from all scripture (Fee and Stuart, 2003). The second, error is personalizing. Personalizing involves reading a narrative and making it pertain to you, instead of realizing that the narrative tells a story about specific characters in that story (Fee and Stuart). The third and last error is misappropriation, which means to appropriate the text for purposes that it was not intended for (Fee and Stuart,  2003).      There are many principles for interpreting...

Personal Narrative Analysis

...When one thinks of a narrative piece of writing, you may automatically refer to the idea of an anecdote being told in some way, often deriving from real life events. Narration generally means any kind of explaining or telling of something and It is usually used in reference to storytelling. Throughout chapter 5, the authors tell you that persuasive essays, historical surveys, and scientific reports support narration. The Ingenuity of Narrative in Memento

...The Ingenuity of Narrative in Memento Abstract: Narration, simply put, is telling stories. However, the way movies narrate tales is not like that of novels developing plot in words or drama unfolding in stage space, but has its own special method for narrative - moving images. In Memento, through its unique nonlinear narrative structure and intense structure contradiction, the motifs of memory, self-deception and revenge and the philosophical exploration of existential angst are demonstrated in an elaborate and subtle way. Key Words: Memento narrative structure narrative contradiction Memento recounts the story of Leonard Shelby, a man with anterograde amnesia, who distorts his own memory to deny the harsh reality in a both conscious and unconscious way. Living in a world full of lies fabricated by himself, the ill-fated protagonist makes the very principle of his life consist in the pursuit and systematic exercise of the revenge for his wife’s death which is actually caused by himself. In Memento, the splendid way of narration gives audience not only indelible psychological experience, but also a test on their ratiocination. Below is the analysis of narrative advantages in Memento from aspects of narrative structure and narrative impetus, compared with novels and dramas. I.Narrative Structure Narrative structure is the structural framework that underlies the order and manner in which a narrative is presented to a reader, listener, or viewer. Compared...

Analysis Narrative Text

...TextTell Me a Good Story: Using Narrative Analysis to Examine Information Requirements Interviews during an ERP Implementation Rosío Alvarez University of Massachusetts, Boston Jacqueline Urla University of Massachusetts, Amherst Abstract This paper reports on a participant-observation study examining how clients use narratives to convey information during ERP requirements analysis interviews. Techniques drawn from narrative analysis are used to analyze the structure and content of different types of narratives clients tell during requirements analysis interviews. First, findings reveal that interviewees organized their experience, sought to persuade listeners, and conveyed information to analysts using “stories,” “habitual,” and “hypothetical” narratives. Client narratives provide a pragmatic view of the information system, offering insight into the ways the system is actually used and the habitual practices of the work environment. Second, narratives function to signal the embeddedness of the information system in its larger organizational and social context. While analysts may be inclined to dismiss narratives as messy or uncodeable data, the insights they provide merit attention. To the degree that narratives give insight into users’ perspectives on organizational issues, they provide knowledge that is essential to any information systems project. This is especially true for ERP projects that, unlike other systems projects, seek to integrate processes spanning the entire...

Structure of Personal Narrative

...CLRC Writing Center Structure of a Personal Narrative Essay “Narrative” is a term more commonly known as “story.” Narratives written for college or personal narratives, tell a story, usually to some point, to illustrate some truth or insight. Following are some tools to help you structure your personal narrative, breaking it down into parts. The “Hook” Start your paper with a statement about your story that catches the reader’s attention, for example: a relevant quotation, question, fact, or definition. Introduction Set the Scene Provide the information the reader will need to understand the story: Who are the major characters? When and where is it taking place? Is it a story about something that happened to you, the writer, or is it fiction? Thesis Statement The thesis of a narrative essay plays a slightly different role than that of an argument or expository essay. A narrative thesis can begin the events of the story: “It was sunny and warm out when I started down the path”; offer a moral or lesson learned: “I’ll never hike alone again”; or identify a theme that connects the story to a universal experience: “Journeys bring both joy and hardship.” “Show, Don’t Tell” Good story telling includes details and descriptions that help the reader understand what the writer experienced. Think about using all five senses—not just the sense of sight—to add details about what you heard, saw, and felt during the event. For example, “My heart jumped as the dark ...

...The narrative of Venture and the database of slave voyage illustrates different parts of the slave trade. The narrative of Venture Smith tells of his journey before reaching the slave ship in more detail and with more passion and emotion, although it is based of memory and could have distortions. On the other, the slave voyages database give us reliably general data on the journey itself, and it can be used as a reference to check the validity of a narrative but also to see what was left out or excluded and for what reason. By putting Venture’s narrative and the voyage database information together, we can see the general journey that the overall slave population took, and how the ship started in north America, then went to Africa, followed...

Narrative and Character Development

...INT 201: NARRATIVE AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ASSESSMENT 01 AVATAR (2009) is a science fiction epic directed by James Cameron centred around a growing conflict between a human corporation and an alien species Known as the Na’vi, on the latter’s native planet of Pandora. Like most blockbusters a third person shooter tie-in was also released by developer Ubisoft. The video game, James’ Cameron’s AVATAR: The Game, is set two years prior in the form of a prequel. Despite this it does little to expand on the films cannon and instead offers up a similarly tailored adventure that adheres to the basic parameters of the movie, utilising many of the same key moments across a clear and discernible 3 act structure. A cross comparative analysis of the two mediums, utilising Volger’s 12 steps Hero’s Journey demonstrates however how the games at first honours this time honoured journey, being plotted along Volger’s step before discarding them to its own detriment. The similarities in the narrative structure of both the film and the game differ little, particularly across their first act structures. Much like the films protagonist Jake Scully your character avatar, Able Ryder, will similarly find him/herself awakening from cryo after a prolonged journey from earth, leaving the ‘ordinay world’ and answering the ‘call to adventure’ within the exotic forests of Pandora. The hero archetype Jake is a fully realised character from the films introduction, who during the...

Another Form of Narrative

...Another Form of Narrative Mise-en-scène is everything that is shown on camera. However, mise-en- scène is more than just the staging of scenes. The important functions of mise-en- scène are shown in the film The Secret in Their Eyes (2009), directed by Juan José Campanella. Without a good mise-en- scène, it would be more difficult for the film to narrate the story and highlight the theme; this is because mise-en- scène plays an important role in the development of narrative, upgrading of dramatic effects, and the presentation of theme. By unfolding the contents of narration, the setting, one of the components of mise-en- scène, helps the viewers’ understanding of the narrative. The old-school objects and items, such as the characters’ costumes, the vehicles, and the black-and-white photos, in The Secret in Their Eyes, told the audience that the story was taking place in an earlier time. According to David Bordwell, a famous film theorist, and his wife Kristin Thompson, the combination of setting and costumes would “reinforce narrative and thematic patterns”. One of the important settings in the movie was the soccer stadium, where Benjamin and Pablo captured Gomez. The size of the crowd and the stadium allowed Campanella to show the viewers how challenging it was to spot and capture Gomez. In addition, the loudness of the noise at the stadium was effective for intensifying the dramatic effect during the chase scene, or in this case, the climax. Lighting is also crucial...

...(making a decision, perhaps), conflict between a person and society, or a person and nature. • Simple and personal ideas work well • Start from what you know and build/ elaborate on this. • Avoid fantasy fiction, ghost stories and complicated adventure stories. • Avoid a plot which ends with : ‘I woke up and it was all a dream/nightmare’ (although a dream might happen inside the story, in a paragraph, perhaps). • Decide whether to use a linear (chronological) structure- • Or a structure using temporal shifts/ time changes such as flashbacks. • Choose third or first person according to task and STICK WITH IT (although there might be an opportunity for selective use of embedded narrative- another voice telling the story). • Try to use narrative hooks- intrigue your readers, perhaps keep them in suspense or keep them guessing! • Plan a definite opening and ending. Task : plan a story using this classic five part structure- • Exposition (opening- it sets the scene and kick off the action) • Encounter – a meeting or key event involving two or more characters. • Complication or conflict- the difficulty. • Climax- the most intense moment of the story. • Resolution- the ending- sad, happy, mixed, open ending, surprise ending or ‘twist in the tail of the tale.
