...National University Jonathan Cox Houston, TX Henry P. Sims, Jr. Sabrina Salam University of Maryland This study examined how leadership related to citizenship behavior within teams. Leadership was hypothesized to influence team organizational citizenship behavior (TOCB) either directly or indirectly through job satisfaction. Longitudinal data were collected in three waves. Leader behaviors were measured at time 1, follower job satisfaction at time 2, and TOCB at time 3. Results indicate that both empowering and transformational leadership related positively to TOCB through job satisfaction. Aversive leadership was related negatively to TOCB. Also, leadership was mediated by job satisfaction in negatively relating to team anticitizenship behavior. The implications and directions for future research are discussed. ...Developmental organizations embrace performance management processes that enable employees to become their greatest asset. When managers function as performance coaches, they become trainers, confronters, mentors, and counselors, providing positive feedback and reinforcement to improve skills and competencies that ultimately enhance overall employee performance. Performance management functions as an integral part of a comprehensive development strategy, although too few organizations subscribe to this philosophy (Gilley & Maycunich 2000). . Hence, the business world overflows with mediocre, stagnant, or failing organizations that stubbornly or ignorantly overlook their employees' potential. We believe that well-designed and well-executed performance management provides an excellent vehicle for promoting continuous employee and organizational growth and development (Gilley & Maycunich 2000). Developmental leaders rely on performance-oriented principles to help their organizations achieve the business results needed and to improve employee performance and productivity through continuous growth and development. These three principles performance partnership, organizational performance improvement, and effective communication provide a foundation for excellence by allowing leaders to communicate their expectations in a clear, motivating, and inspirational manner. Developmental leaders possess effective communication skills that enhance their ability to deliver performance...

...Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology Assignment on “Outsourcing of Telecommunication Networking” Course No : MBA-631 Course Title : Marketing Management. Course Teacher : Mr. S.K. Forid Submitted By: Md. HosnyMohashin 11.02.52.008 Introduction It has been argued for several years now that the phenomenon of ‘global production sharing’ through global value chains (GVCs), around which a substantial literature exists, has helped developing countries expand export-oriented manufacturing activity. GVCs represent the significant unit of organization of international production, wherein ‘lead firms’, largely multinational corporations (MNCs), coordinate production across international borders through extensive networks of suppliers spread across large numbers of countries. This has resulted in a significant change in the structure of international trade, leading to a domination of what has been referred to as the ‘trade in tasks’, that is, trade is no longer characteristically undertaken in goods, but rather in particular production segments (cut make-trim (CMT) versus the design brand market) of a production chain. The ‘trade in tasks’, empirically measured in terms of trade in intermediate goods, reflect this phenomenon, and the gains accruing to low- and middle-income countries in trade involvement are clearly seen here, with their share constituting more than 35 percent of...

...resulting in forty-six chromosomes in each cell. A congenital abnormality that results from an extra copy of chromosome eighteen is called Edwards’ disease or Trisomy eighteen. During Meiosis, chromosome eighteen is duplicated three times, causing developmental issues that are life threatening. This genetic defect in most cases causes the fetus to be stillborn at birth (Trisomy 18 foundation, 2010). According to Thomas Weiss, “Edwards' syndrome is associated with a broad spectrum of abnormalities which consist of greater than one-hundred and thirty discrete defects involving the brain, heart, craniofacial structure, kidneys and stomach.” The purpose of this paper is to examine what Edward’s syndrome is: diagnosing, symptoms, treatment/management and prognosis. Diagnosing Diagnosing a Trisomy Eighteen infant, starts with genetic testing when the infant is in utero. A Trisomy Eighteen chromosomal defect occurs one out of every six thousand births. Genetic testing is preformed after ultrasound detects abnormalities. An ultrasound alone is not able to diagnosis an infant with Edwards’ Syndrome. This is used as a routine check-up to look at the growth and development of the fetus. Ultra sounds can...

...Human resource management Noting the importance of experienced store managers, UNIQLO has created positions for them, such as supervisor, block leader, Super-Store-Manager, Super-Star-Store-Manager, and franchise owner. Chosen from store managers, superstar store managers are asked to handle a large amount of stock and budget, and their pay varies depending on their performance. By conducting this personnel policy, the company makes sure that each shop should be the solo profit center with its manager as a hard-working merchant, not an ordinary company employee who is supposed to do his job ordinarily. Young talented employees are always promoted rapidly. Every activity undertaken by every employee, from a person’s folding technique to the way advisers (floor salespeople are called advisers) return charge cards to customers (Japanese style, with two hands and full eye contact) are recorded and analyzed. The firm is now building a Uniqlo University in Tokyo where 1,500 new store managers will be trained each year. Japanese Fashion Chain UNIQLO Introduces Worldwide Equal Pay System Across Its Stores The introduction of these new policies will mean Japanese and foreign employees will be working under the same conditions and therefore subject to the same systems of evaluation with regard to their performance and attitudes towards work. It is believed that with everyone being on an equal footing, worldwide competition will also heat up. On the other hand, if the new pay...

The field of psychology is so diverse and always evolving. Because of its expanding nature, there is not only one theory that can truly explain or answer all the questions that are associated with psychology. This paper will evaluate the influence of diversity on psychology’s major concepts, identify two examples of sub disciplines and two examples of subtopics within psychology and explain how the sub disciplines and subtopics identified could be applied to other disciplines and venues in contemporary society.
