Do you remember the hippies in the sixties? They marched and carried on with drugs and sex. They weren’t sure what they were rebelling against, which stopped them from accomplishing anything. Now there are people doing kind of the same thing called Occupy Wall Street. Occupy Wall Street is a movement powered by people. Which started in September in New York City and has now spread worldwide, they are protesting against the economic struggles that Americans face. I am against Occupy Wall Street, because some people don’t know what there protesting for, there are jobs out there, and it’s a joke.
Most of the people at the Occupy movements have no idea about the issues. There are definitely people who know there facts and know what there protesting for and knows why they are shouting and carrying on. Only 1 out of every 11 people know what their protesting for. Joining an angry mob seems fun to people and Occupy allows that to happen.
There are plenty of ways to make money. Even if the job is minimum wage, you have to start somewhere. You have to work hard to get that promotion or get that raise. You have to start out small and work hard to achieve what you want. Instead of protesters, protesting all day they could have a minimum wage job, or start a small business. I believe that people are too lazy to work at a McDonalds, or a fast food. If protesters put the same amount of effort they put into protesting, into finding a job they would be much better off.
Occupy Wall Street is a joke to me. Celebrities come and arrive in limos, and have their expensive clothing on. These celebrities are the 1% that protesters seem to dislike so much. They get arrested too much. They harass the people who go out and work for a living because they choose not to be lazy. There are numerous arrests for disobeying laws that are legit like not camping overnight on public property. The protesters put down Barack Obama, and he has given out more money than any president has ever given. The occupy movement is very trashy and unorganized. If these protesters had class they could get a job and maybe something could be done. I am against Occupy Wall Street, because some people don’t know what their protesting for, there are jobs out there, and it’s a joke. People jumping on the bandwagon aren’t cool. You have to work hard for what you want. I appreciate the passion that the protesters have, but there are better ways get a point across. Causing trouble and getting arrested isn’t the way to go.
