2.2 Мовна реалізація авторської концепції добра і зла в романі Чарльза Діккенса «Пригоди Олівера Твіста».
Дослідження структури роману «Пригоди Олівера Твіста» (“Adventures of Oliver Twist” 1837-1839) дозволяє зробити висновок про те, що художній світ, створений автором, організований за принципом дихотомії, що відтворює авторське сприйняття навколишньої дійсності як арени боротьби протилежний сил Добра і Зла.
Контраст як форма вираження протиріччя найбільше відповідала ідейним установкам письменника, що намагався в художній формі відобразити протиріччя дійсності. Контраст у романі переростає рамки стилістичного прийому і стає організуючим принципом системи, збудованої на протилежностях. Маркованими членами опозиції цієї системи виступають поняття Добра і Зла. Присутність всезнаючого автора, його безпосередня оцінка зображуваного відіграють першочергову роль в контрастній організації роману. Мовні сигнали авторського ставлення до зображуваного виконує інтегруючу функцію. Розпорошені в тексті роману, вони слугують цілі текстотворення, об’єднуючи частини дихотомічної структури твору в одне ціле. Характерною рисою лексичної системи роману «Пригоди Олівера Твіста» є її контрастний характер. Вона являє собою сукупність слів протилежної семантики – позитивної і негативної, - які виражають відповідно два протилежних ставлення автора до зображуваного. Така системність прослідковується на рівні всього роману, що вказує на цілеспрямоване використання автором лексичних засобів мови.
Оскільки основним об’єктом зображення в художньому творі є людина у всій багатогранності зв’язків із оточуючим світом, зображення зовнішнього світу має безпосереднє відношення до розкриття характерів. В додаток до позитивних героїв роману «Пригоди Олівера Твіста» цей зв'язок відображає гармонійна єдність між представниками світу Добра і оточуючим їх світом, що повністю відповідає принципу діккенсівської естетики, згідно з яким Добро ототожнюється з Прекрасним. У досліджуваному романі реалізація цієї єдності здійснюється шляхом використання семантично однорідної лексики для характеристики позитивних героїв і оточуючого їх світу.
Лексику, що відноситься до сфери Добра, можна згрупувати за семантичною ознакою в кілька лексико-семантичних груп: 1) «Краса»; 2) «Доброта»; 3) «Сприятливі умови». Зовнішній світ, природні фактори, що співвідносяться з позитивними персонажами, характеризуються в романі тією ж таки лексикою позитивної орієнтації, що й самі герої. Порівняння цих лексичних рядів підтверджує думку про одно направленість всіх мовних засобів вираження на відображення гармонії зовнішнього та внутрішнього, характерної для світу Добра. Цей принцип зображення оточуючого світу позитивних персонажів яскраво виражений в епізоді, що описує перебування Олівера в світі Добра, в який раптово вривається уявлення про світ Зла:
