World War two was the biggest war in history with over 64 million deaths; 6 million deaths being Jews, 7 million soviet civilians, 3 million soviet prisoners of war, 1.8 million non-Jewish polish civilians, 312,000 Serb civilians, 250,000 people killed with disabilities, 220,000 gypsies, 70,000 homosexuals and 45,348,00 deaths are of soldiers and civilians. A division would consist 10,000 soldiers to 25,000 soldiers. The Germans plan was to use the blitzkrieg strategy to make the battle quick and fast. Blitzkrieg was about finding the weakest point in a defensive line and creating a smoke screen to hide the troops gathering for a breakthrough, planes would bomb the back lines of the defence to slow down reinforcements. After the back line was mostly destroyed tanks would break through the weak spot and destroy as much as possible then motorized divisions would drive through the opening and circle back to surround the remaining forces and then infantry troops would take care of any remaining resistance that the previous waves missed.
