Evaluate the role of organisational Policy in relation to the management of quality in early education and childcare setting.
A policy is a deliberate system of principles to guide decisions and achieve rational outcomes. A policy is a statement of intent, and is implemented as a procedure or protocol. They provide guidelines for decision making and completion of tasks.
Policies that are used within a childcare setting in relation to the management of quality in early education are, 1. Child protection 2. Health and safety 3. Administration of medication. 4. Risk assessment 5. Staff recruitment and Selection 6. Open door 7. Complaints 8. Whistle blowing 9. Food hygiene
10. Infection control Clearly written, sourced and current policies have an extremely important purpose because they shape and promote good quality practice. They support child care professionals to make informed decisions about their daily practices and act as a point of reference. Policies need to be developed with the views of all stakeholders to help everyone to understand why a practice is necessary, who is accountable for it, when and where the practice should occur and how it happens. Policies also need to be made available to everyone and updated regularly. Policies are there to guide activities within settings and meet legal local and national requirements.
Our aims state that we should provide the best environment in which children feel safe and happy and parents are able to place their children in a safe and healthy environment this is achievable by following our health and safety policy along with infectious control to protect children/staff/parents/carers and other stake holders. Viewers expecting to sit back, relax and switch off for a couple of hours - this film is not for you. A barrage of dream sequences interrupted by brief encounters with endless characters; this is a piece of shamelessly self indulgent psychoanalysis on Fellini's part. Of course, this is exactly what he intended. The main character is that of Guido (played by Fellini himself) a director unable to complete his latest film and loosely based on the identity of his own creator (Fellini). Fellini has been able to achieve the effect of mise en abyme not only through the dream sequences but also with this being an autobiographical piece. Viewers are intentionally lulled into the false belief that they are watching a film about Fellini, not the character Guido. Throughout, obvious references to the films chaos and irregularities are made by characters through their criticism of the unfinished, fictional film. When giving Guido notes on his film, one character calls it 'a chain of gratuitous episodes' which pretty much describes Fellini's 8½ to perfection.
