This paper will discuss my philosophy of tutoring by means of a peer educator.

Tutoring is a great opportunity to facilitate the process of learning. A peer educator has power to

Critical thinking is important because there is more to learning than memorizing the chapter. Such ideas include talking out loud and integrating question in your tutoring session, also try to avoid asking questions that they can answer by saying yes or no. There is also a period to incorporate what is being learned in the session,Also give the person being tutor some quiet time so they could process the information. I think that critical thinking is an very important aspect of tutoring because if you give them a yes or no question, then they will just say yes but if you give them a question then they would have to answer the question. Critical thinking would also give you a sense of if they know the assignment rather than just saying yes or no.Collaborative and group work stimulates learning and makes it enjoyable for both the peer tutor and the person being tutored. One strategy to use in a tutoring session is graphic organizer because as Lipsky explains student are often overwhelmed by studying complex materials (Lipsky, S. A. (2011). In order to help my students, I try to relate to them. If they are struggling on a math problem, I will ask them what their favorite toy is and use it in the problem to help them understand. For example, If they have twenty dollars and then i take away fifteen. I draw twenty dollar bills and then have them cross out fifteen so what they have left is the answer. This type of environment encourages learning and makes it enjoyable for both the peer tutor and the learner. Also, a good way to learn the topic is to skim through your notes and through your classmates note to see if everyone has the same idea. The people that i think should get tutoring is the people that does not understand the method the teacher used because there are many methods that you can learn. The reason that i try to relate to the person that i tutor is so that the person that i am tutoring is engaged
