When the mother in the first story was turned into a cow, the new step mother hated Pepelyouga and made her do chores, and in The Poor Turkey Girl she has to heard turkeys to make a living. But in both stories the animals end up helping them in their life.
In both stories Karma is a big part, because Pepelyouga does good by loving her mother and The Poor Turkey Girl helps out by heading the turkeys, and both of them in return get help with their lives.
