...Change and Innovation Paper Erica Douglas HCA/250 THE PHYSCHOLOGY OF HEALTH IN THE WORKPLACE May 11, 2014 Instructor: TERI ROSSMAN In any area of life, there will be change and there will be some form of resistance from those who are in their comfort zone. Healthcare is no different. Electronic medical records have bypassed paper records and the hustle of filing charts and retrieving charts. When implementing change, there has to be not only those that work on the technological side of things, there needs to be someone that are involved with the human side of things to work with those who are having a hard time dealing with the changes. Not everyone will adapt to change in the same manner. Some of the older workers are not as computer savvy as some of the new-aged, younger workers. This can create fear in them not only because it is something new but there can also be fear of losing one’s job because of the changes. According to "Successful Workplace" (2014), training and retraining will be key to using EMRs efficiently as first rollouts and follow on releases need to be ‘swallowed’ by healthcare organizations Education and communication can help reduce resistance to change by helping their employees see the logic of the change effort. (Robbins, S., Decenzo, D., & Coulter, M., 2014). Dealing with change is a personal experience for all involved. No two people will adapt to change in the same way. It is important for organizations to be aware that there...

...In today’s consumer driven economy, competition and variety encapsulate the daily lives of modern consumers in a manner previously unseen. Walking into a grocery store, one may find several different options for essentially the same product. Thus, for a producer to remain competitive, the producer must be able to distinguish its product from the endless number of seemingly similar products in the market while also incorporating some mechanism for persuading the consumer to purchase the designated product. As a result, the study of consumer marketing, specifically in regards to brand recognition, is an important part of the current consumer based economy. Great portions of larger corporate firms are dedicated strictly to marketing and brand recognition; in the retail markets the main focus of these efforts are on packaging and brand marketing. Considering this notion, my research will answer the question of does the size and location of logos on a products packaging has an impact on the consumer’s favorability of the specified product? The theory that is most commonly applied to the topic of brand recognition and consumer marketing is the Heuristic-Systematic Model of Information processing. This model outlines the distinction between a systematic view in which emphasis is placed on the meditational role of cognitions that are content-based, and the heuristic view of persuasion in which the focus rests with the role of cognitive heuristics and simple rules. Essentially, the systematic...

...Academic and Career Success Gen 201 September 18, 2014 Regina Baxter Academic and Career Success The world that we live in is very competitive. It starts when we are young with sports and our siblings and then that carries on to our academic lives. All through our education and onto our higher education it is a very common theme. Do the best you can, try to be in the top, never settle for less. It’s ingrained into us. And then finally when we reach our career field we realize that even with a great foundation, good references and the degree to back us up, we still have to compete for success. We have to want it and work for it, it will never come easy. Even though there are many resources, a students’ academic and career success falls to them alone. The first thing you have to realize in higher education is academic integrity you are reasonable for your own work. Do not buy papers, do not plagiarize and do not turn in assignments that are not yours. I know that this may sound like it’s an easy concept, but you’d be amazed at how many times I have heard of such things happening. Not only will it affect you but it could affect other students and reflect badly on your learning institution. Not to mention that if you start this habit now, in class, it could follow you through to your career. Do you really want to be that person? After you have decided you will uphold academic integrity you need to set your goals. Setting academic goals is very important and it’s really...

...| | Sco 120:Introduction to Ethics and Social ResposablityJohn MeeksShawna BandmannMay, 24,2013 | | Ethics is best described as the difference between what is morally right and what is not right. Ethical theory defines what is perceived to be right and what is wrong, while ethical practice suggest that one’s environment and cultural beliefs determine who one will react in any given situation. The question how do we as a society decide what is morally right or wrong in moral “free choice” (Mosser, 2010)? Morals are unique to each person, culture, religious belief and environment. Ethical practice is defined by the diversity within each society, where no to people are alike. Morals don’t define ethics, ethics define morality. Abortion an age old ethical debate between moral right choice and wrong choice, why? To evaluate abortion with ethics, we must first understand the argument from all perspectives. What is the debate reason abortion is so fiercely argued in past and present generations? Abortion is the term to define the choice to terminate a woman’s pregnancy. Unitarian view, which is the view that relativist challenge. Utilitarian view suggest that abortion is not wrong because its selfish and benefits the mother not the unborn fetus, this is what Unitarians refer to as :ethical egoism”(Mosser,2010). Relativist view is just a little less judgmental, suggesting that some situations may be determined morally correct while others simply remain wrong. In this paper neither...

...29.09.2012 ‘Tragedy is an imitation of an action’ is what Aristotle said about the theater genre, tragedy. I have been curious about the ‘imitation of an action’ part and asked myself question such as what could the’ imitation of an action’ as a phrase in this context of tragedy mean so, under the light of the emphasis our instructor put on the chapter ‘the definiton of tragedy’ in ‘Aristotle’s Poetics’ reading that we were assigned to read and since I wanted my question to be cleared and I also wanted to understand the foundation of tragedy and prepare myself, base knowledge wise, for readings that were to come, I started my reading with that particular chapter. Through the chapter I partially understood, through my own reading without anyone’s help, the combination of artistic beauty of changing the places of the words, harmonious rhythms of songs that provide an emballishment to the ongoing play on the stage and the crucial components such as ‘the soul of tragedy’ and another component as important as the plot that I am not too confident about whether I absorbed its meaning and relation with other parts of a tragedy, that element is thought. I think through the chapter I found an answer to my question of what is imitation of an action, let me expand my question for beter understanding and my own answer through the information I gained through my reading . I think my question of what imitation of an action is pretty straightforward to understand, in literal base I know...
