Aristotle
* Earth was the center of the universe and was in the center of ten separate concentric crystal spheres that revolved around it * Open the mind to more complicated physics and the motion occurring on Earth
Ptolemy
* Planets move in small circles, and each of which moved in turn along a larger circle
Copernicus
