Presentation Essentials DB 1

When delivering a speech or presentation it is important to use the elements in the Rhetoical Triangle which consist of three elements, the speacker, the audience, and the situation. Informative presentations are given to audiences to educate and teach about a certain topic or topics in a descriptive manner. In an informative speech you are not trying to persuade or sell you audience purely educate and inform. When presenting a persuasive speech the main objective is to convince the audience of what you are trying to sell or maybe a point of view such as the case for lawyer giving closing arguments to the jury.
Different approaches need to be taken depending on the audience you are presenting to. The audience at an informative speech is more than likely there ready to learn something new and have more of an open mind. Audiences at a persuasive presentation might already have their own opinion on the topic making it harder for the presenter to gain the trust of the audience. Last but not least is the third component in the situation. The situation is the reason in which the speacker is giving the presentation. This is important because along with what is being presented is where to have it and how to go about setting up the best situation for the speaker (Lucas, 2009).
Mr. Lawler begings his presentation by asking the audience what they thought of when he pulled up a picture of marijuana. This sparked the interest of the audience however based on the comments it would seem that they were not ready to take the presentation seriously. His presentation had audio in the backround thoughout his entire presentation which made what he had to say hard to hear. He seemed a little nervous and was not enouniating his words clearly enough for the audience in the to hear. The visual presentation overpowered the speech itself. Large

Followership in Cases of Conflict of Interest

...| Followership in cases of conflict of interest. | By: Modupe Blessing Igbafen ABSTRACT An area is usually perceive as basic concerning the piece of followers in definitive ethics is aficionados' responses to dishonest requests by a leader (Carsten & Uhl-Bien, 2007). Followers face moral issues when leaders approach them with wrong requests, for instance, asking for that they take part in practices, which are doubtlessly beguiling. In such circumstances, supporters must settle on a decision: They can choose to stay up to the beguiling sales (e.g., by troublesome the pioneer's request, declining to join in exploitative direct or proposing alternative strategies) or they can oblige the pioneer's allure, largely getting the opportunity to be complicit with the untrustworthy behavior. This decision will apparently be connected with their emotions about follower’s relationship with pioneers, and their particular part. For followers to have the ability to stay up to a pioneer's exploitative sales, they ought not to see their followership part as reserved and obedient. Maybe, they must feel a commitment as a dynamic part in the administration process (Carsten & Uhl-Bien, 2007) INTRODUCTION. The idea of conflict of interest is more important today than any other time in recent memory. Moral sensitivities about the relationship in the middle of experts and those they serve are a wellspring of steady verbal confrontation. This book sets another standard for chip away...

...Anacely Ledezma Mgmt 3330.003 April 19, 2010 Assignment #5 Visual Aids are extremely important when they help an audience understand a presentation or speech more clearly. Audiences vary in regards to their ability to capture ideas and thus with visual aids could be presented the opportunity to further comprehend a concept. Most audiences also include a mix of different types of learners. As a presenter, it is crucial to make sure that the presentation given targets each type of learner whether visual, kinesthetic, or auditory. When a presentation includes visual aids it captures the attention of those visual learners and thus gives another portion of the audience to comprehend what is being spoken to auditory learners and the personal stories given to kinesthetic. Each presenter might have a different way to provide a visual aid for an audience. Whiteboards would be key for large rooms, such as lectures. Race is very important since most our staff is extremely diverse, from Hispanics from all parts of Latin America, to also employees from Europe, and many others from all parts of the world. Let’s not forget our customers and our stockholders who are also much diversified. The reason why these characteristics are being taken into considerations is to avoid any misunderstandings and to avoid...

'Ripples on a pond' model of the main factors underpinning successful learning was developed by asking countless people (students, colleagues, professionals, trainers, all sorts of people) straightforward questions about how they learned things - all sorts of things. Probably the most universal of the factors in their responses was that feedback was essential. Most often, this feedback comes from other people - fellow learners, tutors, trainers, instructors, expert witnesses, and so on. Quite often, however, it is sufficient to gain feedback from existing (or specially designed) information, which responds to tasks that have been attempted in the bid to learn. Imagine feedback bouncing back in to the 'ripple' of learning. This keeps the ripple going, increases the...
