I think President Lincoln was a visionary leader because of his use of Intellectual Stimulation and Demographic Diversity when promoting his vision to end slavery. According to the Barnes Center of Enlisted Education (BCEE), Intellectual Stimulation is present when leaders encourage their subordinates to be innovative (XXX). Lincoln effectively communicated his vision to everyone and often sought out the opinion of others about abolishing slavery. Right, wrong, or indifferent, he utilized demographic diversity by welcoming feedback and the opinions of the American people because he knew that ending slavery would affect millions and he wanted to hear their views about the matter (XXX).
