Problem Solving Theory Project

Thinking about a recurring problem in my life was tough, being that I’ve just closed on a home, working 45-50 hours a week as a store manager, and going to school , are all their own problems in themselves. The common denominator in all three of these life altering events would be time allocation. Given 24 hours, I have to figure out the best way to divide every single step throughout the day, for the next couple of years to be beneficial to myself as well as my household. My morals or ethics come down to family being the most important in my life. I need correct time allocation to not only help handle the day to day responsibilities that come from caring for my first household. But also satisfying the time spent with my girlfriend in .the same process. This causes a severe split between job and school as well. I need to work in order to provide my half of the bills and relationship spending. But also need school to further advance in my career and make a better living. As the saying goes “Work smarter not harder”. With a better education I can advance to make money as well as work less to satisfy my home and relationship needs. At first I thought the problem was I was doing too much at one time. The real problem is “How to create more time to allocate to my responsibilities simultaneously”. Incorrect time management could possibly lead into failures in my relationship, foreclosure on my home, stuck in the same complacent job “comfortable”, and ultimately dropping out of school. But developing better time management skills, I can satisfy home improvement as well as spending time with my girlfriend, continue to work and become a better store manager. Displaying the qualities needed to either take over the store or become my own owner of a similar store.

Evaluation Checklist * Is it legal? Will I be violating either civil law or company policy? * Is it balanced? Is it fair to all concerned in both the short term and the long term? Does it promote win/win relationships? * How will it make me feel about myself? Will it make me proud? Would I feel good if my decision were published in the newspaper? Would I feel good if my family knew about it?
The Gnatt chart illustrates my proposed implementation plan on how to solve my problem which is time management. Everything is completely legal seeing that I’m only dealing with how to distribute time throughout the course of the day to satisfy both school and professional life. I’ve thoroughly balanced out the time allocation so that everything is pretty much equal including my personal life as well. With better time management I will be able to complete all my assignments school and work related, spend time maintaining my new home, and still have personal time to do whatever I want to do. It’s a win/win relationship because everything is distributed evenly. Being able to balance everything out makes me proud that I’ll be able to tackle so much and completely utilize the 24hours I have in a day with no wasted time spent. This solution also helps me beat procrastination because I literally have set out time to do everything I deem important in my life, and also free time in case any unwanted problems occur.

Hsbc Operational Management Report

...fourth largest in the world. In Oman, however, the experienced problems within the bank are not what one would expect from a financial institution with such a reputation. Since its establishment in 1948, the bank has always offered top-notch services with fewer mistakes in Oman. Currently, there have been reports that the country is experiencing problems with their ATM machines. Customers are unable to use their ATM cards to access their accounts. The administrative sector is also having problems involving registration of clients to their newly introduced Advance Credit cards. The process has become strenuous for its customers. This study aims at identifying the problems and resolving it through operations management theories in gaining global competitiveness. According to the theories of operations management, organizations can solve their problems in three distinct ways. The six-sigma approach suggests identifying the defects and solving them afterwards. The lean approach, similarly advocates for the identification of defects though it focuses more on the wastes. After identification of such wastes, it is plausible to eliminate them. Contrary to that, the theory of constraints suggests that in every organizational structure, there is a limit. Identification of these constraints should be solved by redesigning the operational process. Furthermore, drawing examples from banks, which have suffered similar problems,...

...(CAD) course and the final group project was to create a modeled Boeing 747. A requirement of the project was to add your own modification to the 747. Each of my teammates picked a structural part of the airplane and creatively made their own modification. If creativity is the only element being considered in the generation of the idea, then the implementation of creating the modification would be excluded. Without the implementation, our individual alteration would only have been a thought and we would have received no credit on our project. This misconception of creativity neglects the creative approach at solving problems. The creativity modification that I implemented to our 747 was adding flames to the turbines. Amabile’s definition of creativity insinuates that a significantly small percentage of the human species are creative; my lecture notes state this numver is a mere 2.5%, which I feel is absurd. This misconception would contradicts all the innovative creations that have advanced human life throughout the centuries. This measure of creativity is unreliable because as humans we are always adapting to solve problems and maintain life. If only 2.5% of humans were creative, then we as a whole would be faced with a crisis of dealing how to advance economically and maintain the preservation of life. Adaption-Innovation theory eliminates these misconceptions by correlating creativity with problem solving, so that every individual can problem solve and be creative. To reframe...
