New products development can also be a new line added in the company, innovating ideas to improve the existing products, target new market and also ideas to reduce the price for already existing products.

The process of developing new products varies between companies, and even between products within the same company. Regardless of organizational differences, a good new product is the result a methodical development effort with well defined product specifications and project goals. As explained in an article1 development project for a market-pull product is generally organized along the lines shown in Figure 1.

A specialty that’s fits the Alabama geographic area is women’s health. The top five areas of women’s health that are affecting the lives of women on a daily basis are: heart disease, breast cancer, stroke, autoimmune diseases, and osteoporosis. Based on research I will attempt to prove why women’s health was chosen as a specialty by providing statistical facts and benefits. Worldwide, 8.6 million women die from heart disease each year, accounting for a third of all deaths in women. Heart disease is the number one killer in the state of Alabama. Research shows that in the year 2007 a total of 11,926 people died of heart disease and of that number 6, 018 were females. On an average, nearly twenty-one females die from heart disease in Alabama each day. Alabama is one of five states to have the highest death rate from heart disease. Outsourcing Product Distribution the Right Wa

...Outsourcing Product Distribution The Right Way By Gregory Wick of Quovera As seen in: Logistics and Supply Chain online magazine Aug. 2, 2000 For Internet companies that cannot afford to buy and store their inventory or hire an internal logistics staff, outsourcing the product distribution function can be either a smart business decision or a disaster. Success or failure in distribution depends on how carefully and continuously you manage this function to make sure your distribution partners are doing the job that is expected. B2C Drives DSF Growth When distribution is not a core competency for your company and you do not have the resources to make it one, outsourcing the function can help your company grow by allowing you to focus on your mission-critical activities. There are two types of outsourcing that are common among start-ups - traditional distribution and drop ship fulfillment (DSF). Traditional distribution outsourcing involves hiring a third party to store and distribute your products through its national or international distribution network; this party provides the staff, warehouses, distribution center and transportation fleet. The second type of outsourcing, DSF, has grown in parallel with B2C retailing over the Internet. With DSF, a start-up company sells a product, charges the customer, generates a purchase order, and sends the PO to the manufacturer or supplier, who then fulfills the order by shipping the product directly to the customer. Since...

Outsourcing Product Distribution the Right Way

...Gross Rating Points (GRPs) Gross Rating Points (GRPs) equal Reach times Frequency, expressed as a percentage. GRPs measure the total of all Rating Points during an advertising campaign. A Rating Point is one percent of the potential audience. For example, if 25 percent of all targeted televisions are tuned a show that contains your commercial, you have 25 Rating Points. If, the next time the show is on the air, 32 percent are tuned in, you have a total of 25 + 32 = 57, and so on through the campaign. The word "gross" reflects that the calculation double-counts (actually multiple-counts) the audience; that is to say, it is possible to reach a percentage higher than 100. Gross Rating Points could also be applied to other media besides television: radio, print, billboards, the web, and so on. If you attach a United Way banner to your corporate headquarters building, and 3 percent of your target population drives by the billboard twice every day for 120 days, then GRPs = 3 x 2 x 120 = 720. How You Do It Media planners calculate total Reach, average Frequency, and GRPs as part of the planning of a campaign. The goal is to obtain the highest possible GRPs at the lowest possible cost, while remaining focused on the target market. After the campaign, you can calculate actual Reach x Frequency = GRPs to produce a permanent record. Strengths This is a fundamental navigational metric. It is a coarse measurement of how you approached your target audience and how you spent...

..."Distribution and Pricing" Please respond to the following: • Discuss the various ways that distribution adds value (or utility) to a product or service, the impact that wholesalers and retailers have on that value, and how it can be used as a competitive advantage. Strictly speaking, although a wholesaler may own or control retail operations, wholesalers do not sell to end customers. Indeed, many wholesale operations are themselves owned by retailers or manufacturers. Wholesalers are extremely important in a variety of industries, including automobiles, grocery products, plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, and raw farm produce. Wholesaling involves that part of the marketing process in which intermediaries, i.e., those between the producer and end consumer, buy and resell goods, making them available to an expanded buyer's market over an expanded geographical market area. As middle agents, wholesalers are only effective when the price they charge for goods and services is less than the value placed by customers. By facilitating the transfer of title of goods, they are involved in the bulking and distributing of goods. (www.referenceforbusiness.com/encyclopedia/Val-Z/Wholesaling.html#ixzz1nOmy6Yk2 ) • As you market yourself to employers, the salary you demand is essentially your personal price. Keeping that in mind, determine the pricing strategy should you follow (penetration, skimming, or competitive). Explain your rationale. In most cases competitive pricing strategy...

The Title of the Project Is “to Identify, Study and Suggest Improvements on the Sales and Distribution Strategies of Fmcg Products in Rural India.”

...PROJECT PROPOSAL Title The title of the project is “To identify, study and suggest improvements on the sales and distribution strategies of FMCG products in Rural India.” Rationale Rural marketing and rural penetration are very key issues in FMCG companies today. With heavy penetration of all FMCG categories in urban India and with a highly fragmented market in most categories, the only way the categories can show substantial growth is through penetrating deeper and deeper into rural India. This involves creating product awareness, creating brand awareness, generating trials and facilitating repeats. In the whole process, sales and distribution of these products forms the backbone. The dynamics of selling FMCG products in rural areas is very different from urban areas, especially because media has a lower reach in these areas and Cable & Satellite penetration in these areas is quite low. Hence the sales and distribution function of a company will largely determine the fate of its products in rural areas. Therefore it will be very interesting to study what works for a category in rural areas and whether such learnings can be applied across categories to facilitate growth in rural areas. Scope The project would comprehensively cover S&D issues in rural India and will try to address them. Some of these issues are:  Channel design and channel features  Retailer profiling and retailer management  Operational design associated with channel management ...

...Proposal: 1.1 An Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Distribution Strategies on customer satisfaction: A case of Delta Beverages in Gweru 1.2 Back ground to the study Delta Beverages is a monopolistic producer of lagers in Zimbabwe. Though it has some competition from other liquor companies, the author is going to concentrate on Gweru as the area of research on customer dissatisfaction on distribution. According to Oxford Dictionary,’ distribution is the transport and supply of goods to various people or places’. Therefore distribution is a marketing activity aimed at taking manufactured goods close to customers. There is direct and indirect distribution. Delta Beverages uses indirect distribution. According to htt.www.com distribution (or place) is the fourth traditional element of the marketing mix. The other three are Product, Price and Promotion. Most businesses use third parties or intermediaries to bring their products to the market. They try to forge a “distribution channel” which can be defined as “all the organizations through which a product must pass between its point of production and consumption” Delta Beverages is no exception as it also heavily relies on stockists and retailers for its products to rich the consumer at a place convenient to him/her. Giving the job of selling products to intermediaries reduces the costs of distribution. Also these distribution channels are specialists in selling. They have the contacts...
