His name was MB.MB was a financial director from Coca Cola with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. For several years, MB had held strategic positions and his fame increased with great accomplishments and was recognized as one of the best director in our company. He was gifted in many areas as procurement direct for payables. He had a tremendous leadership skill and was a role model. He managed the accounting department and brought productivity up to speed. In 2002 MB was nominated as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Prior to his appointment our CEO A H had an interview with him to make sure that he was the right candidate for this position. ...Professional Workplace Dilemma Paper Alicia Huff GEN 480 June 19, 2012 Alexander Dunham Professional Workplace Dilemma Paper Although everyone experiences a dilemma in the workplace at least once in their life, the most important aspect of the dilemma is to learn from it and gain some knowledge and wisdom that can be used the next time you are faced with dilemma within the workplace. Furthermore, while experiencing these dilemmas in the workplace we have to ensure that it is not a repeat deal. Meaning that you are a confrontational person and always have issues with other employees, because you gossip too much or your just plain old not doing your job and causing other people to get in trouble because they have to pick up your slack. Or maybe there is a fellow employee who is looking to get a promotion as a manager soon. Currently he or she is doing some shift leading from time to time. However, you notice that sometimes while he or she is shift leading he or she takes advantage of the little bit of authority that they have been granted for his or her eight hour shift. Now you have brought the change in the shift leader’s attitude to the attention of your managers. You have explained that there is a little abuse of authority with, yelling, name calling, snatching things from other employees hands, not giving lunch breaks, gossiping about other employees to their employee friends who happen to work there, and so forth. ...the case incident “A New HR Professional´s First Workplace Dilemma” I can say that I agree with Laura decision. As a new Human Resources coordinator at a small company in charge of updating the HR manual, she should first read the current policies of the company related to Computer, Email and Internet use to see if they already have existing anti-harassment or anti-discrimination policies, statements, and if it has been properly shared within the company. In the event there were no policies for this specific situation, she should create new policies that meet the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and show them to her superiors. I agree with her decision to not report the Director of Marketing to the CEO as this would threaten the Director´s reputation and alter the company´s environment. I think it is important to research on the company’s history and employees’ in order to set new rules and policies that will work efficiently. It is a fact that a corrective action must be taken because this situation is considered as “harassment” under the Ontario´s Human Rights Code as it is an unwelcome conduct that negatively impacts a co-worker. “It is important to address any unwanted behaviour early to minimize the potential for workplace harassment to lead to workplace violence” . I advise Laura to introduce these new policies in moderation and not instantly as majority of people are reluctant to change. She must be professional and confidential to avoid coworkers...

They are aware of the time, effort and dedication it will take to become certified professionals. Clinical practicum requirements, internship placements and comprehensive exams are at the forefront of their concerns. Conversely, professional issues including ethics and workplace dilemmas seem to be the least of their worries. Beginning clinicians may enter the workforce assuming all professionals adhere to ethical standards. They may think "workplace dilemmas" are simply fabricated scenarios they will never encounter. Unfortunately, the dynamic and evolving scope of the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology can present unforeseen challenges in the workplace, especially for beginning clinicians. However, with the proper education and training, students can enter the workforce prepared to handle any conflict that may compromise their ethicality. In order to demonstrate how to resolve ethical dilemmas occurring in the workplace, two scenarios involving support personnel, prescription and misrepresentation will be discussed in further detail. The first scenario involves the administrator of an outpatient rehabilitation clinic. She is requiring a certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) to supervise a speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA). While supervising a session, the SLP notices the SLPA performing a diagnostic...

...Professional Dilemma Yona Mcmillan GEN/480 Interdisciplinary Capstone Course June 20, 2016 Jennifer Baker Professional Dilemma Introduction In life, many people will experience a professional dilemma in the workplace. How we handle it, reflect on our ethics. In this paper I will explain my professional dilemma that I have experience in the workplace with a co- worker. I will describe my experience, ethical issues I have encountered, and the outcome of the professional dilemma before I started the University of Phoenix. The Experience I have been employed with my company for ten years and before someone is hired we are required to sign an employee handbook which contains the company policies, procedures, benefits, and other programs. In signing this manual, each employee agrees that they have read and understand the company policies. If employees break, any of this policies will result in termination. As an Assistant Property Manager, I handle all of the accounts payables and is responsible for entering and taking checks and money orders to the bank. If I cannot make it to the bank, I have a safe that I put the money in (all employees have access to the safe). One day at work I walked in on my April taking money orders out of the safe, and I asked her about it. She responded that she was checking to see who paid their rent so far. She put them back after being approached. This was unusual because we have reports that provide us with this information. I seem very...

...Ethical Issues in Management Charles Hall Axia Student Diversity in the workplace refers to the stark contrast of individuals within the same work environment. Many moral and ethical issues are faced by managers every day concerning diversity. Social Issues and ethically responsible management practices relate to workplace diversity in simple but important ways. Ethically it is irresponsible for managers to manage diversity in the workplace by acting insensitively towards employees. There are many ways that managers can avoid ethical issues concerning diversity in the workplace, but first they must understand the moral and ethical issues that they are faced with. Fifty years ago it was not uncommon to see any workplace filled with nothing but white adult males (Jr., 1990). Today that has changed. Walking into most workplaces will expose a person to an environment of diversity. This environment poses challenges to management that were not even a concern to doing business a generation ago. Programs like Affirmative Action have mandated that organizations heed government set quotas of employing minorities in their workplace (Jr., 1990). This has resulted in a complex new environment for managers where the bottom line is no longer the bottom line. Ethics are now the bottom line in a work environment where diversity plays a major role. Managers need to be in tune with their subordinates’ ethnicity, race, and background. Due to the political correctness (PC) movement of the 1980s...

No company wants to be known as unethical, and employees are more apt to display higher morale and more productivity when they know they are working for a morally sound company. It is important to create a conscientious workplace that is transparent, both to employees as well as the general public. Small business owners should never tolerate inappropriate behavior in an employee and employees should be properly trained on what is considered unethical and ethical. * Set an example for your workforce. In order for employees to behave in an ethical manner, they need to know that they are working for a moral boss. This company policy should state your expectations for your employees as well as outline what is and is not considered acceptable. Having a clearly written policy will help you take action should an employee act unethically. * Allow employees to report unethical behavior in a safe environment.
