Correctional officer Rayshawn Morsby was nabbed infiltrating “cigarettes” to the incarceration facility he was employed. There is no specific reasons why the correctional officers smuggle “cigarettes inside the facility. He was captured dumping empty boxes of cigarettes. According to the information Morsby successfully exceed several security checkpoints until he was detected packages of tobacco wrapped in electrical tape. There is limited information regarding any other substances that the ex-correctional officer could infiltrated prior of being napped. The officer was placed under arrest and booked into jail with a class six felony for misconduct and a misdemeanor for trafficking drugs inside the facility. Therefore, a possibility is that the officer trafficked tobacco for personal motives or he was persuaded by prisoners to do so. There is no info of how long the officer smuggled drugs into the facility. However, the fact that he was offering services to dangerous prisoners has a critical impact on the correction system. It is know that inmates have control of inside and outside issues, and Morsbys’s case is a perfect example and proof of inmate’s influences and power.
