...Opinion paper draft People Should Not Keep Pets More and more people keep pets in recent years. From a broader perspective, people should not keep pets. This paper will clarify four reasons why people should not keep pets. The issue of whether should keep pets has been extensively debated and remains relentless. According to research, there are 29.8 percents of people who keep pets in China, nearly 50 percents of people keep pets in Europe, and almost 60 percents of people keep pets in the United States (Soltanizadeh 83-94). The topic of keeping pets becomes a international topic. With the increase of number of animals kept at home, more and more people stated that people should not keep pets (Soltanizadeh 83-94). In this paper, I will present arguments in support of the topic that people should not keep pets. There are three reasons. Keeping pets not only wastes resources, but also increase the risk of health of the animals and people. And it is a violation of animal rights. My counter argument is people should keep pets because it adds to the quality of life of both the owner and the animal. There are mainly three reasons why people should not keep pets. Firstly, keeping of pets results in a huge drain on resources that could be put to better use. (Rebekah 525-537). For examples, pets are costly to keep in time, money and energy. As well as the cost to owners in food, vet’s bills and the time spent cleaning and exercising. Secondly, keeping pets is...

...Case Study Paper by mvp007202 Psychology Student Liberty University Online for PSYC 255, Research Psychology Professor Jesse Winn April 21, 2014 Case Study Paper A case study provides valuable scientific information that enables researchers to further advance the world around us. There are various methods researchers use to perform case studies and each method serves its own purpose. There are advantages and disadvantages of conducting a case study, and various ways to collect the data needed. What is a Case Study A case study is an in-depth analysis of someone’s complete life history where the researcher seeks causes and patterns for behavior. Case studies can be both qualitative and quantitative, depending on the method used to gather information. A case study could also be done on a group, community, or an event. The goal of a case study is to find how one’s case can be a generalization for others, to find common ground per se, and to advance research previously conducted. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to generalize these subjective studies to a large population of people. (Case study as a research method, 1997) Case studies can be both qualitative and quantitative, depending on the method used to gather information. The most known case studies came from Sigmund Freud. He conducted detailed investigations into the lives of his patients, attempting to provide insight to their illnesses and help them overcome the challenges their illnesses brought....

...Solve a Problem PHL/458 Rebekah Armstrong University of Phoenix Aleyda Cardenas February 17, 2014 Solve a Problem Creative thinkers have a generalized set of character traits used within the creative thinking process to assist with finding the best resolution to the challenge faced that consist of originality, use of imagination, and effectiveness. Through each of the four stages of creative thinking, thinkers continuously find challenges and multiple ideas that create solutions for these challenges. Determining what the most effective solution to the challenge is may take a varied amount of time but because creative thinkers are so dedicated, they will keep striving to meet their goal. The personal challenge search effectively demonstrated all areas of the creative thinking process from beginning to end. Creative thinking is not just an art form; it is a process that requires hard-work and dedication from independent individuals who strive to find the best possible solution to a challenge. Creative Thinking Process The creative thinking process consists of four steps which break down the different essential areas that cover all aspects of the process, from beginning to end. Creative thinkers have character traits of boldness, resourcefulness, independence, are generally dedicated hard workers. Each step of the creative thinking process is routine for creative thinkers because they know until one step is completed the next cannot commence. Step 1 Many...

...channels, informally linking networks of friends, relatives and other potential customers to the organisation. Much academic literature has sought to define customer loyalty and many of these reviews are discussed within this paper. However, consensus points to customer loyalty being characterised by the customer’s preference to purchase a product, service or from an organisation consistently when the need arises to purchase. The key issues of this characterisation are preference and consistency. The Discussion of Consumern Loyalty The most widely accepted definition of loyalty is by Jacoby and Kyner (1973), who describe loyalty as the biased, behavioural response, expressed over time, by some decision making unit, with respect to one or more alternative brands out of a set of such brands, and is a function of psychological processes. At a very general level, loyalty is something that consumers may exhibit to brands, services, stores, product categories, and activities (Mark, 2003). Loyalty is a feature of people, rather than something inherent in brand (David, 2013; Martin, 2013; Rosalind, 2008). Many see it as primarily an attitude-based phenomenon that can be influenced significantly by customer relatinship management (Stanley, 2011). However, empirical research shows that loyalty in...

...Professional Application Paper Ms. Presley Psy1010 Rebekah Griggs Effects of Autism Disorder on Children What is Autism? Autism can be defined as a disorder of neural development which is characterized by an impaired communication and social interaction as well as by restricted and repetitive behavior. These traits are manifest in a child before he/she is three years old. Autism affects the processing of information in the brain through altering how the nerve cells and their synapses do connect as well as how they organize: the explanation of how this process takes place is not fully understood. There are two other autism spectrum disorders are PDD-NOS which is diagnosed when the full criteria for the other disorders fails to be met and Asperger syndrome which lacks delays in the cognitive development. Scientists have argued that Autism has a strong genetic basis, even though autism genetics are complex and unclear if ASD has any correlation when explaining by the use of basic genetic variant or by the use of rare mutations. In some rare cases autism can be associated to some agents that cause birth defects. There are controversies that surround some other proposed environmental causes such as pesticides, childhood vaccines, and heavy metals. The hypotheses on vaccine have lacked biological plausibility or scientific evidence. The prevalence of ASD is 6 per every 1000 people, with 25% increase in men than in female; on the other hand autism prevalence is about 1...

As a result, enrolment has dwindled, so that total enrolment across the four years of the program is about forty students. This is a significant concern, discussed further below. b. Graduates This was a very important year for the College of Nursing, because the first graduates were officially recognized during the third Convocation for the University. In the picture below, some are shown with Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahmuda Khanum and Chair, Health Sciences, Dr. Karen Lund. In all about thirty students have graduated. To the best of our knowledge all those who want to be working have found good jobs. Some are working at private hospitals in Bangladesh as ward staff or senior nurses. Others are junior faculty at private nursing colleges in Nepal. A few have emigrated to USA or UK. One graduate successfully applied to a USA accrediting agency for recognition of her BSN credentials in order to apply for graduate school. and there are now about 70 students enrolled in the IUBAT College of Nursing. A few foreign students continue to enrol, but we are mostly seeing enrolment of...

...The Federal Reserve’s duties are to maintain the stability of the financial system, supervise and regulate banking institutions, conduct monetary policy and provide financial services to the government, such as operating the nation’s payments system. The establishment of the Federal Reserve System and how it conducts monetary policy, through interest rate variance, reserve requirement, money supply and several other programs, is fundamental to understanding the economy as a whole. The Federal Reserve Act, also known as the Glass-Owen Bill, was passed December 23, 1913 under President Woodrow Wilson (Goodseek.com). The Federal Reserve was born from the National Monetary Commission which proposed that the country needed an institution to deal with a poorly regulated banking system that was responsible for economic downturns (WFHumel.net). The original 1913 bill stated that the original act was “to have succession for a period of twenty years” and yet there have only been minor adjustments to the bill since that time (Goldseek.com). Federal Reserve is comprised of 3 divisions: the Board of Governors (BOG), the Regional Reserve Banks, and The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). The BOG guides the Federal Reserve’s policy actions, studies trends in the economy, and helps forecast the economic future, In addition, the BOG also participates in monetary policy-making on the FOMC, and is responsible for bank regulations and overseeing the operations of the Reserve Banks (Goodseek...

It also applies to methods applied when improving an already existing solution and when performing a duty or achieving a goal. The superficial IT evolution can be said to be preceded by hand and print revolutions. All the things that one can now handle within a short spun of time just by the click of a button is quite different from the past. Systems like phones, computers and other electronic devices can carry out a bunch of work just by the click of the correct button within a minimum duration unlike in the past. They have made the lives of young people comfortable and swifter, as explained by Keith (100). Modern technology has led to globalization. This has made the world smaller. It has allowed the world’s economy to be a separate business unit. This business unit is interdependent. The Internet, televisions, and cell phones are enlightening socialization by making both positive and negative impacts on the lives of children. Internet is the first group having enormous influence in technology. It has changed how people communicate, when they talk, where they relate from and the frequency at which they do so. Former NOtW royal editor Clive Goodman was accused of hiring private detective Glenn Mulcaire for phone hacking activities. The major victims were celebrities, politicians, and members of the British Royal family. Later in 2006, both Goodman and Mulcaire were sentenced. The chief editor Andy Coulson then resigned from the newspaper. However, in July 2011, it was revealed that the phone of missing school girl Milly Dowler had also been hacked by a journalist from the News of the World. The messages in the voice mail box had been erased, which gave false hope survival to police and the girl’s family and potentially destroyed valuable evidences about the girl’s abduction and murderer. Within more and more , resulted in a public outcry against the News International. On the 8th of July, after the British Parliament’s urgent debate regarding the affair, British Prime Minister David Cameron announced that a public inquiry would look in to the scandal and that further investigations needed to be conducted. Due to advertisement boycotts and unrelenting public pressure, News of the World ended its 168 years publication on 10th of July. Eight days later, former News of the World reporter Sean Hoare was found dead. He was the first to allege phone hacking...
