After conducting the exercise with my partner and accumulating his feedback, I also shared my insight with him. Although we differ in many areas, there are also some similarities that if well stipulated, can become beneficial to both of us.
When my partner told me that positive attitude was being honest and straightforward in whatever one is doing, although I agreed that honesty and straightforwardness is vital in whatever we are doing, I had to add that positivity should include friendly emotion and socially accepted or admired behavior portray around your surroundings. In addition, I made my partner to agree with me that honesty and straightforwardness alone will not create a conducive environment for people to feel relax and excited while carrying out their task. ...Human Resource Development Review (Jamie L. Callahan, Editor) Title of the Article: The Role of Self-Reflection, Emotional Management of Feedback and Self- Regulation Processes in Self-Directed Leadership Development Author: Paul L. Nesbit No. of Pages: 18 pages SUMMARY The self- directed leadership development is conceptualized within a framework of emphasizing a self understanding phase and self-change phase that are dependent on the integrated operation of three skills concerning one’s ability to manage emotional reactions to feedback, to carry out effectively the practice of self-reflection, and to enact self regulatory processes for development. It is suggested that the accomplished operation of these skills enable more refined and effective self development efforts allowing leaders to respond to changing work environments in a continuous and productive fashion. However, once learned and incorporated into ones behavioral repertoire, the operation of self development strategies would become self guiding. Given that self-development can be considered as metaskills- skills that allow for the development of other skills. It requires developing self awareness of competency strengths and deficits as a primary focus in leaders self development. This process requires self initiated obtainment of performance feedback and self-reflective analysis of this feedback in terms of its implications for one’s self-development (Day, 2001: Moon, 2004). Leadership

...Leader interview The person I interviewed is a leader who has rich work experience over 25 years. I will called him Mike in this paper. Before I interviewed him, I searched a lot of information about the history of his company’s development. Even the questions I prepared before are common and general, however, some of his unique answers demonstrate that he is a good leader who performs well during his workplace. In his view, of course, a leader is the person who not only sets goals for the company, but also makes decisions to lead the company into the right directions. Despite these things which seem as common sense in our’s mind, he has special definitions of “leadership”. Firstly, a good leader is a pioneer. You may have many solving plans when facing with a problem. When most of your co-workers or followers prone to prefer one of these plans, you have to figure out what are the strengths, weaknesses and chances of success of other plans by yourself. Keeping openness sometimes makes him feel lonely during the decision making process since what he does is beyond example. Another definition is that leadership is not only leading followers, but also empowering talented followers. It depends on to what extend you trust your followers. Trust plays an important role in a good leadership. When question comes to the characters a best leader possesses, he lists some traits which are modestly related to leadership success, such as intelligence, responsibility, dominance...

The areas which I’m strong on when it comes to self-awareness would be attitudes and also personality. Attitude which I possess in my personal life and in professional life differs according to the surroundings. In my personal opinion attitude is an easiest way to judge a person. The way we perceive things and reflect towards certain issues, person, situation matters the most. Taking care of our attitude helps ourselves to improve the relationship built with others such as family, friends, colleagues, manager and so on. Personality is another area which I hold strong to. Personality also plays important role in our daily life, it determines how we interrelate and respond to different people and circumstances...
