I will be auditing the new construction site of a four story office building. The building will be closed in; meaning office spaces and hallways will be indoors. This office building will be located in a heavy traffic area in a big city. The traffic will consist of sidewalk traffic along with delivery trucks and other vehicles passing by the work site location. It will not be connected to other buildings; it will stand alone with a parking lot and parking deck. The parking deck will be four stories as well. The top floor of the parking deck will have a roof to protect people from rain and bad weather.
The area of business that this office will impact will be the construction portion. The audit will make sure all members of the construction crew are working in a safe and healthy environment. This audit will include a physical inspection of all equipment used for the project including, vehicles and cranes. Other portions of items that will be inspected will be safety plans, OSHA logs, first aid station, and documentation of employee training.
The vehicles will be inspected to make sure they are able to hold the proper amount of weight. It will lift beams, air conditioning units, and other items. The vehicles will also be inspected to assure the engine is up to date on all maintenance requirements. The tires will be inspected to make sure they are not in need of air or new thread.
