But, for some people have problems with this because it eliminates the state of being private because the cameras can track anybodies tracks and know what they are doing and where they going. Also, if you are not doing anything wrong then the cameras won't affect you at all. It’s like saying that Big Brother is watching you everywhere you go. ...Running Head: INVESTIGATING YOUR OWN MENTAL MODELS “Investigating Your Own Mental Models” Running Head: INVESTIGATING YOUR OWN MENTAL MODELS 1. 1. Describe the mental model thoroughly, including its origins, how long it has been established, conversations you have heard about it, etc. According to Hrepic (2011), “wider studies of mental model definitions show that no consensus exists about the definition of the term mental model and “some definitions of the concept are even contradictory.” “Canas and Antol”, believe the main reason for disagreements in the definition of the mental model is that the term has been used by researchers who work in different fields and who focused on its different aspects. However, “Van der Veer” believes that although there is no agreement about the exact definition of the concept, in general, “mental model” refers to the internal representations that people form of the environment through their interaction with it”(p. 1). In other words, mental models are believed to be assumptions, beliefs, generalizations even stereotypes of a person’s belief system that is often generated by their experiences. According to Senge (2006)...

...A Synopsis On “COMPARATIVE STUDY OF NBFC AND ITS ROLE IN INDIAN ECONOMY” Submitted To: Submitted By: Dr. Kavita Chavali AARLA SIREESHA 10SBCMO125 FINANCE C Bangalore ALLIANCE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF BUSINESS Page 1 INTRODUCTION Non-banking Financial Institutions carry out financing activities but their resources are not directly obtained from the savers as debt. Instead, these Institutions mobilize the public savings for rendering other financial services including investment. All such Institutions are financial intermediaries and when they lend, they are known as Non-Banking Financial Intermediaries (NBFIs) or Investment Institutions. Apart from these NBFIs, another part of Indian financial system consists of a large number of privately owned, decentralized, and relatively small-sized financial intermediaries. Most work in different, miniscule niches and make the market more broad-based and competitive. While some of them restrict themselves to fund-based business, many others provide financial services of various types. The entities of the former type are termed as "non-bank financial companies (nbfcs)". A robust banking and financial sector is critical for activating the economy and facilitating higher economic growth. Financial intermediaries like NBFCs have a definite and very important role in the financial sector, particularly in a developing economy like India. They are a vital link in the...

...multiple times to create a polyphonic sounding, repetitive line. The underlying repetitve bass line is accompanied by power chords in a true rock fasion. The guitar and piano play on the 1st and 4th beats of the bar although the chord played on the 1st beat, is sustained until the fourth beat. This forms the introduction and uses the progression F, C, Bb. The use of power chords is associated closely with popular music and this helps define itself as a piece of 1970s popular music. A minimalist piece which appealed to the masses was a piece by Mike Oldfield called Tubular bells. Although it can be seen as a classical, minimalist piece, it appealed to the masses. Figures state that it reached number 1 in the Australian Kent Music Report1, 2 in the Dutch Mega Chart2, 37 in the Deutsche Offizielle Top 1003, 25 in Recorded Music Newzeland4, 86 in Promusicae5 and number 1 in the OCC6. The figures above show how popular the piece was in society and was in the charts with pop artists such as Pink Floyd. I believe that this piece appeals to the popular branch of music because of the use of instrumentation. The piece still used “conventional” pop/rock group instrumentation such as guitar, bass and electric organ. Infact the piece became so popular, it was used as theme music in the Exorcist. An unusual aspect of this hit piece was that the whole album was one song lasting for 48:57 minuets. This is very long for a piece of pop music where most song last under 5 minuets. However...

...Vol 453|1 May 2008 COMMENTARY Making the grade t’s a familiar story. Children around the world have been tested, and the United States is in trouble. A US Department of Education report1 from March concludes that “without substantial and sustained changes to the educational system, the United States will relinquish its leadership in the twentyfirst century”. The panic plays out in countless newspaper articles and policy reports, recently leading to legislative responses such as the America COMPETES Act, which contains a list of measures to boost average mathematics and science test scores. A country’s place in the new global economy is, according to these reports, determined by its rank in the maths- and science-score hierarchy. Following this reasoning, one would conclude that the US economy is threatened not only by Japan and South Korea, but also by Finland, Singapore, New Zealand and the Czech Republic. The rankings that engender these fears are primarily based on two tests administered to middle- and high-school students since 1995: the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS). Improving education should be a priority for the nation, but erroneous interpretations of international test scores may drive economic and competitiveness policy in the wrong direction. When we consider that education testing shows formidable US strength as the largest producer of top-scoring...

...http://mathematicalanalysis.com/money/report1/report.html Stock Market Modeling Techniques and Potential Applications [Kevin M. Farnham - 24 April 1999] 0. Introduction Models have been developed that reduce the risk of investing in the U.S. stock market, while increasing long-term returns. Algorithms that evaluate the market's price pattern over a given period were studied in relation to the market's subsequent performance. Various correlations were noted. The correlations were merged into a series of models that provide buy and sell signals. The graph shows the annual risk-adjusted return (dividends excluded) of the NYSE and the three broad market models presented in this report over the 30 years from 1969 to 1998. Models #9 and #4 outperformed the NYSE Index and had a positive return in all 30 years. The aggressive Model #9A outperformed the NYSE Index and had a positive return in 29 of the 30 years, the exception being a 1.5% pre-dividend loss in 1985. This performance was accomplished without using short sales, in a market that declined in 9 of the 30 years. This report: 1. outlines a philosophy for building effective predictive models; 2. documents the 30-year performance of three broad market models; 3. provides close-up views of model performance during bear markets; 4. presents the actual trading results for a market-neutral model; and 5. suggests potential applications for the developed techniques. 1. ...TOURISM by Student’s Name Code + Course Name Professor’s Name University Name City, State Date Travel and tourism have been one of the important sectors that have contributed majorly to economic development for both developed and developing countries. Tourism industry helps in raising the level of national income and improve the standard of BOP (balance of payments). It also makes indirect contributions through the promotion of good diplomatic relationships among countries. These attributes are important in establishing a competitive economy for any nation. Developing the travel and tourism sector requires effective policies that can help in solving possible obstacles that can prevent the desired progress (Klingmann 2007). Therefore, this paper will present an analysis of the tourism sector in Iceland by identifying the current influences on travel organizations within the tourism industry. In addition, there will be an analysis of theories and models that help explain travel flows and trends in important destinations within Iceland. Influences on travel organizations The performance of travel organizations depends on the political systems within a region. The political setup has a significant impact on how companies form their structures and the way of operation. For example, the relationship established between two countries based on the political ties play a significant role in opening the global market for the tourism industry in Iceland. Also, an...
