Business needs to adapt or overcome the phases of changes to prevent possible failure. Business research is a vital tool companies use for ‘‘finding solutions to a problem after a thorough study and analysis of the situational factors’’. Once employees go through the research phase the company can make a logical decision to help the business grow. This paper will cover the various factors of business research and its purpose in a company. Business research and purpose Business research can be identified as a, ‘‘systematic and organized effort to investigate a specific problem encountered in the work setting that needs a solution.’’ Business research is a combination of steps designed and executed to end with developing solution(s) to the problem(s). ...Current Business Research Project Paper RES 341 July 29, 2010 David Ferguson Canoeing as a sport can be dangerous causing injury. The research conducted in this article defines a set of hardware and safety systems coupled with environmental and other tangible objects to determine the risk cost within the sport. The information complied would aid the insurance industry in determining insurance premiums for events. The model developed was tested at the International Canoe Slalom Championship in Central Taiwan. The data collection in this research did not factor injuries caused by human factors. First the injuries were separated into two factors internal and external. An example of an internal injury may be a shoulder injury due to a rowing stroke. An external injury would be an injury caused by hardware. The data used were categorized into hardware sets, safety systems and tangible objects. The model had four steps, the combination of hardware and human support, the racing program with a code system used based on personal data, extra costs evaluation per venue and decision making. Each tier would have a hiarchical level of risk from high to low and each would have its own critieria to determine the risk with in each area. An example of this would be the matrix shown in figure 1. The end result based on all the statistical data would be that each accident would cost the event an additional 223.77 per accident...

...Current Business Research Project Paper RES/341 March 21, 2012 Current Business Research Project Paper According to "Research Methodology" (2012), “business research can be defined as Business research is a systematic and organized effort to investigate a specific problem encountered in the work setting that needs a solution” (para.1). Laura M. Miller wrote “Physical Abuse in a College Setting” in this peer review Ms. Miller identified the purpose of the research. In this paper I will explain the problem that’s under investigation. There were several methods used in the research paper that I will describe. Last but not least I will conclude what the result of the research was. This article identifies the purpose of the research; after numerous reports of abuse between college students in relationships. According to research those students involved in an abusive relationship is more likely to stay with their abuser long term. The purpose of this paper is to inform readers how common it is for college students to find themselves in abusive relationship and never report their abuser. It has been determined that most victims have been in abusive relationships in the past. The business problem under investigation in this article is the victim giving accurate identification for their abuser. The main reason this happens is lack of knowledge and denial that abuse is incurring in their relationship. Stets and Pirog-Good (1989) reported that only approximately 40% of the men...

...Current Business Research Paper June 20,2011 RES/341 Jack McNicholas Parent Drug Education This paper is a synopsis about an article of choice. The synopsis is will define the business research and the purpose of the article, any problems that may be under investigation, the methods used in collecting the data for the research and what was concluded as a result of the research. The article that was chosen is an article about parents and the education they have on drug use with younger children. It researches how parents can better communicate with younger people about drug use. Business Research and Purpose Parent drug education is very important part of drug prevention in young people. Effective communication can be a factor that protects drug misuse in young people. Business research is defined as a “systematic and organized effort to investigate a specific problem that may be encountered in the work setting, or that needs a solution” (Sekaran, U. 2003). Drugs use is most likely to not be openly talked about among parents and younger people. The purpose of this research was to help parents to find more ways to be able to communicate more successfully and productively with young people and to help communication be the key factor of any parent drug prevention (Shapiro, 1998). Data Collection Methods & Research Results The methods that were used to collect data were qualitative multi-methods. This method was used to establish parents (n=6) and young people...

...Current Business Research Project Letitia miller RES/341 March 6, 2012 Alexander Odemba Current Business Research Project A response to "Reflections on a global financial crisis" Caprotti, F. (2009), "Financial crisis, activist states and (missed) opportunities", critical perspectives on international business, Vol. 5 No’s 1/2, pp. 78-84. • Define the business research and its purpose This paper seeks to draw out the main themes of the debate on the current financial crisis as published in the special issue of critical perspectives on international business Vol. 5 No’s 1/2 (2009) and place them in the context of subsequent events. It also considers what conclusions can be drawn both for future policy and for the conduct of future academic research. The paper overviews existing literature and summarizes the main findings, focusing particularly on some topics deemed important and interesting for directing future research. The paper finds that while the neoclassical approach to finance has evidently failed there is currently little consensus on how to replace it. This opens up the possibility of debate, new avenues for research and ultimately radical change. The paper argues that more interactions between academic and finance practitioners are needed. Research in finance should be interdisciplinary or embed the insights from other disciplines and it should put behavioral finance under main stream attention. The teaching of management and finance should also be more...

...Current Business Research Project Sharron Jones University of Phoenix Res/341 Jim Triplett June 13, 2011 Current Business Research Project This paper is a synopsis of a research study in price knowledge measurement scales used in the food and clothing retail industry. This paper will define and identify the business research, purpose of the study, problems under investigation, methods of data collection, and the ending result. The article this synopsis is based on is “On the Validity of Price Knowledge Measurements via self-assessment scales: two studies in retail” (Eberhardt, Kenning, & Schneider, 2009, p. 1). Business research is defined “as a systematic and organized effort to investigate a specific problem encountered in a work setting that needs a solution” (Sekaran, 2003, p. 5). The business research used in respect to price knowledge measurement includes addressing self-assessment versus percentage absolute deviation (PAD), and the retail branch of food versus clothes. The problem under investigation is determining the validity of scales used to measure consumer price knowledge used in marketing to influence market price and profit (Eberhardt et al., 2009, p. 1). Previous research is outdated and does not consider important factors such as brand power, or demographics, and was performed from the viewpoint of a researcher and not the consumer (Eberhardt et al., 2009, p. 2). The researchers performed separate studies in food and clothing retail in Germany...

Female and male rats were administered carbofuran in drinking water in concentrations of 25, 100 and 400 ppm for a period of 90 days. Clinical symptoms, water consumption, body weight gain, organ weight, pathological and histopathological changes in the liver and kidneys were observed and biochemical and haematological examinations were carried out. The results obtained show that carbofuran administered to rats caused a significant decrease in water consumption as well as in brain, serum and erythrocyte cholinesterase activities. Statistically significant increases in relation to the control were found in the serum enzyme activities. The haematological data showed that carbofuran had no significant effect on Hb concentration and total RBC, but total WBC showed a significant statistical decrease. The histopathological changes in...

...Data Collection Paper (MLB) Laura L. Mason, Becky Matlock, and Nichole Noble RES/341 June 8, 2011 David Morrisson Data Collection Paper (MLB) Data collection is an important part of research and it requires that the right information be collected. Because of many types of data research it is imperative to make sure the data collected is present in the final analysis. This data can be shown in different formats such a graphical or tabular. Team A has chosen the Major League Baseball (MLB) data set and feels the population and the type of data collected will provide good resources for surveys to make informed decisions. Team A will review the types of ways data can be shown as well as some of the ethical issues that researchers may run into. Our research involves looking at the 30 MLB teams in how the statistics vary. The data set is a accumulation of information that includes what league they are in, the year of erection of each stadium, capacity of each stadium, salary of the team, wins for the season, batting average, attendance, earned run average (ERA), stolen bases (SB), and home runs (HR). The sample for this research topic is very sufficient. It includes all the teams in the league and portrays the same information for all of the teams. The population (teams) and the categories listed in the data set will provide Team A the information to complete our research into...

...Data Collection Paper Team C RES/341 21March11 Sara Skowronski Data Collection Introduction Review of Literature The first peer-reviewed article was showing how in the 1950s, SUV’s (sport utility vehicle) sales increased tremendously with baby boomers. People were in need of larger vehicles to accommodate their entire family. This was not just for domestic vehicles this also included foreign vehicle. With so many people interested in purchasing the SUV’s, this led to other car companies designing more comfortable, larger vehicles. Another peer-reviewed article was in regards to the searching strategies people used before actually purchasing a new vehicle. Not everyone can walk into a dealership and know exactly what they are looking for in their price range and it is readily available. That is why most people before purchasing a vehicle use a strategy before purchasing. Not everyone’s search strategies are the same, not everyone is looking for the exact type of vehicle. Some automobile companies sent out surveys to some of their customers for a 3 month span to see how satisfied they were with the new vehicles and what the new vehicle may not have had that the consumer would have liked. When the surveys were returned they categorized the responses to see where improvements could be made to accommodate more people. The next peer-reviewed article pertained to how well auto incentives increase business. This article was in...

...Supporting the Hypothesis RES/341 ABSTRACT The Learning Team addressed Century National Bank and the possibility of the banks potential to earn revenue through a reduction in the interest earning accounts regulations and requirements. This week the calculations of the data collected from the data set samples of service and interest for Century National Bank will be the determining factor of the hypothesis. The independent clause is if the required services on interest earning accounts reduce and the dependent clause is the quantity of interest earning accounts will increase, thus leading to an increase in the bank’s revenue. The information gathered from the articles and data provide supporting details or not supporting details toward the hypothesis. The articles used discuss facts about high yield interest earning accounts, concerns about minimum required balance requirements and fees on accounts. Another articles used explained the research by Lin, and the relation between the customer’s expectations and perceptions of the quality of service prior to and post purchase and how it affects the banks. Research from 60 accounts provide results of the customers who have interest earning accounts, the services used, and how many people use the services. Charts demonstrate a clearer understanding of the data collected. Ethical concerns are important when a company changes policies. Changes should retain the customers’ loyalty and trust as the company progresses...

...“COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN BRITANIA & PARLE - G BISCUIT” INTRODUCTION [pic] Biscuit is a kind of crisp, dry bread product that, if leavened, is usually made with a chemical leavener. The exact meaning varies markedly in different parts of the world. The origin of the word "biscuit" is from Latin via Middle French and means "cooked twice," hence biscotti in Medieval Italian (similar to the German Zwieback, and still present in Dutch "beschuit"). In modern Italian usage the term biscotti is used to refer to any type of cookie or cracker. Some of the original biscuits were British naval hard tack; such hard tack was made in the United States through the 19th century. Throughout most of the world, the term biscuit still means a hard, crisp, brittle bread, except in the USA and Canada, where it now denotes a softer bread product baked only once. Biscuits derive its name from a French word meaning twice backed bread; Biscuits in general have a good shelf life, which is higher than all other snack items available in the market. A biscuit is a hard baked sweet or savory product like a small, flat cake, which in North America may be called a "cookie" or "cracker". The term biscuit also applies to sandwich-type biscuits, where a layer of 'cream' or icing is sandwiched between two biscuits. In the UK, "cookie" is usually only used in specific terms such as "chocolate chip cookie" or to refer to larger, softer...
