This article is a report on the prosecution of an un-named 35 year old male, 15 year old female and four other male individuals aged between 22 and 28 after an incident outside a bar in Kalgoorlie.

Criminal Law
Section 378 of The Criminal Code Act 1995 states anyone who steals something is guilty of a crime and is liable to serve up to 7 years in prison. Part 2:a of section 378 of The Criminal Code Act 1995 states that if a stolen motor vehicle is driven in a manner that causes an offence under section 60 of the Road Traffic Act 1974, the offender is liable to serve up to 8 years in prison for reckless driving. That duty is imposed by law. In other words, a tort is an act that causes someone to suffer harm or loss unfairly, culminating in legal liability for whoever committed the tortious action. There are many examples regarding to tort law in this case. The first being the man that was found injured at the scene of the fight. The four men involved in the fight had a duty to behave in an orderly conduct to ensure the safety of the public. The fight resulted in the trespass of a person by another causing assault/injury hence a breach of the law resulting in the four being charged with disorderly behaviour in public.
The second example of breaching the duties imposed by tort law is the driver of the stolen police car. He had a duty to the public to not drive a vehicle in the first place to avoid a police pursuit as he did not have an authorised licence to drive. The driver of the stolen vehicle also drove recklessly to destroy street signs and furniture (trespass of goods) that was around him. This is a breach of his duty to the public as he could have caused someone serious injury if someone had been nearby (trespass of someone by grievous bodily
